Yes I know we discussed the full video on this forum. That's how I accessed it. I don't know about the Washington Post in particular. But the basic story presented by the mainstream media was that the students were having an exchange with some Black guys and the old Native American guy decided to try to come between them. Then he was mocked by the students.

So I looked at the full video and what it shows is consistent with that. And it shows that the guy in the MAGA hat was clearly messing with him. I don't know why MJ would've gone into "deflect mode" because there was no need to. I had numerous posts in the thread with the full video pointing out that the basic story presented by the mainstream media is consistent with what's on that full video.

No it's not just a matter of seeing what I want to see. It looks to me like people are arguing that the fact that the Black Hebrew Israelites or whatever they call themselves guys messing with just about everybody that came by including the students somehow changes things. It does not.

What I was looking for when I watched the video was an answer to the basic question of whether or not the students were mocking the old Native American guy. And they clearly were. And that guy in the MAGA hat was clearly messing with him. Nothing the Black Hebrew Israelites or whatever they were did changes that.

You may not think this is key but I do: There is even a point in the video, which was shot by the Black Hebrew whatever they were nuts, when one of the Black Hebrew guys commented that the students were mocking the old guy. Now, I'm pretty sure he wasn't sitting there thinking "we are going to claim later that they were mocking him so I'm going to say that right now while I'm shooting the video."

I haven’t brought that one up yet because I didn’t want to debate whether or not the lawsuit was frivolous because of the lawyers’ language in the suit, and the 250 million ask.

But the WaPo does have a problem here... the kid is not a public figure and the bar for finding for a plaintiff in cases like this is significantly lower than in a case involving, say, one of the most litigious white boys on earth (Donald Trump)

The kid won’t get 250 million, but he will win a smaller award if it goes to trial. WaPo will settle, and then we’ll get diatribes from JSO how a settlement implies no culpability and how it would be more expensive to fight the suit

Whatever. We've got a real problem in this country with "conservative" media distorting and misleading. That's where the real "fake news" problem is. All of us would be much better off sticking with what is referenced as the "mainstream media" while at the same time recognizing that there is some left bias there.

It would be great if there were media sources with zero bias. But when it comes to credibility something like the Washington Post or NBC News is far more credible than something like Fox News or the Washington Examiner.

Also, just prior to the reference to mockery, you can hear the students doing a Native American chant type of thing. You can't see a lot of what's going on in the long video. But there are other videos that show them doing tomahawk chop things, etc.

As you can see at the beginning of the video whoever made it apparently thinks the fact that the Black guys harassed the kids somehow renders the basic narrative false. It does not. There WAS an exchange between the kids and the Black guys. The old guy DID walk in. Some of the kids DID mock the old guy.

Also, again, other videos show that the central character kid in the saga was messing with the old guy. It's just absurd to say otherwise.

It has MSNBC and CNN as, basically, mirrors of that in that they are both assessed as having "Left Bias" and "Mixed" accuracy ratings.

However, both the Washington Post and NBC News are assessed as having "Left-Center Bias" and "High" accuracy ratings. So they are assessed as being biased to the left but not AS biased to the left as Fox News is to the right. Also, they are assessed as being more accurate than Fox News is.

You will have to copy and paste it for me because I am not going to pay to read. All I know is that I've been hearing listening to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk show hosts and reading stuff in conservative media for weeks that the initial media basic story was false and I can see with my own eyes looking at the videos that it wasn't false.
