Yes, here we are. Where that is, I have no idea. But I do know that not one single instance, outside of everything we already knew about who Trump was, and is, has been posted in this thread with regards to how Christians are hypocritical for supporting Trump.

I know you say Hillary doesn't belong, but she does. What would Christians be hypocritical of if they supported her? Once again, it's the anti-Christian club running at the mouth, but with the volume to 11 because Trump is President. You act like your schtik is new. Image We've heard this claim for years.

On an overall choice, Trump, while a poor Christian model, was the better choice than Hillary.

So please. Tell me specifically, what actions has Trump performed after being elected that would constitute Christians as hypocrites.
Dude...
all meaningless - you voted for Johnson (remember)

No. Just because I voted for Johnson, doesn't mean I don't support Trump.

I support Trump because he is the perfectly annoying asshole the elected officials deserve.

Hope that the elections of Trump and the Ocasio Cortez's causes them to do some work.

Hell, I don't care if they push shit back and forth as long as they do something. Immigration is the perfect example. Everyone wants it, but the whole deal is fucked due to all or nothing bullshit.

Outside of Trump being a poor example of what a Christian should be, what makes a Christian a hypocrite for supporting Trump?

How would supporting Hillary have been any less hypocritical?

at some point the act has to get old even for you
And this has nothing to do with Hilary Clinton
No matter how hard you try to add her to the conversation

two years ago it was about Hilary and not pulling the lever
The point is you willingly crawled in bed with a morally bankrupt adulterous borderline pedophile
just to name a few of the concerning aspects of his character

Even a lowlife Liberal like me didn't vote for Obama - when I found neither option suitable
Yet the higher morality of Christianity skipped right over that option
and was all in on the philandering adulterous conman

Here's a clue on why:
Because there is nothing intrinsically moral about Christianity or for that matter Christians
and the saddening way they gleefully cling to Trump and defend his debauchery just proves that outright

:coffee:

You had choices
You had morally ethical choices - but you chose otherwise
today you dare to pretend you had no choice when it was actually quite simple
and instead now you act the fool

:tothehand:
You should have debated me on this topic a couple weeks ago-

when I talked about the whole “flawed angel” theme that pervades Christianity

We agree on the endpoint.. that the Christian right has a Trump problem, but I don’t think it has to do with a fundamental lack of morality in Christianity’s tenets.

When supporting someone like Trump, Christianity has an app for that

Indeed,
Christianity also has an app for Televangelism and stealing poor stupid peoples money
it doesn't side step the argument one bit

Islam has an app for murdering people
So what exactly is your point then..?

A moral flaw is just that
it begs the argument that Christianity is fundamentally amoral then..?

Not to defend Islam because like Christianity, it's BS...

...but Christianity has a modern record of murdering people too. It mostly happens in Africa though, so like everything else there, the western world ignores it. But the fact is that western missionaries also helped lay some foundations of violence, planting fears which grew to killing gays, witches, Muslims, etc.

Care to provide any recent links on this Christian backed genocide?

The crackdowns of gays and "witches" fueled by Christianity in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe (I'm sure others); the Lords Resistance Army and other militias driving Muslims out in the Central African Republic, Congo, and South Sudan. The 2008 Christmas Massacre is one of the most well known incidents.

Reading the world news, and giving a **** about Africa, helps. :twocents:

Which is unfortunate.

If the western hemisphere invested the effort, Africa as a whole has large economic and geo-political potential. But we might be too late as China's already invested heavily into the continent.

Agreed. Fortunately for the US we have plenty of Latin American countries to exploit. :D

I dunno. Maybe?

I see daylight between what I understand Christianity to be and what Christians do

I see it in all the other religions I have encountered too

I’m not defending Christianity here - mainly I guess I’m still responding to JSO’s inability to understand why the Christian right can support the guy at all... to me it isn’t puzzling one bit

Like I said, the endpoint is the same (Trump) but you and I see different causes

Hell, I don't care if they push shit back and forth as long as they do something. Immigration is the perfect example. Everyone wants it, but the whole deal is fucked due to all or nothing bullshit.
So you support Trump for non-Christian reasons? Fair enough. :thumb:

I think much of this debate centers around a confusion between piety and morality. Christians who voted for Trump claim anti-abortion SCOTUS selections as their sanctity while turning a blind eye to exploding Yemeni children or the likelihood that Captain Raw Dog paid for a few abortions himself. It’s how Scott Dejarlais got re-elected.

And yes...but the Clintons.

Christianity as performed (not practiced) is no more moral than your local chapter of wiccans or the gay softball association and probably less.

To be honest. I forget who said it on this board, but when Trump got elected they said that they weren't worried, as all Presidents before Trump would talk about all the wonderful things they have done while the needle barely moved for Americans.

That was spot on for Obama, so I took it as pretty good advice. I'm Libertarian/Conservative, live in Liberal Seattle and can't think of any one thing Obama did to mess up my life.

It's amazing that not one person I have asked has been able to come up with something Trump has done, that affected them personally.

So, I haven't been paying attention to all the crying, except for Mueller and the investigation.

I can see your point of piety vs morality.

One of my favorite Simpson lines was when Maud Flanders said that she went to Bible Camp to learn how to be more judgemental!

I will point out the irony of Cleet's value system of falsely accusing me of lying multiple times with a poor morality when he had no proof, while trying to say Christians are bad.

Bearing false witness.

And why? Because my opinion was unknown to him and I was a bad liar, therefore, I am lying with a bad moral compass.

Cleet's has religious intolerance and bigotry issues. See how easy that was to spin?

What if it's simply that Trump overall was a better Christian choice than Hillary? Isn't that why the Christian vote goes to the right? They offer more of what they hope to achieve, or is this the no choice thing Cleets was talking about as their defense?
