This is textbook TDS is full display. The biggest negative of Trump and all of his buffoonery is that not only has it shed a light on the dark tiny corner where the handful of white nationalist and KKK types still left now have a media willing to give them all the press they can get, but it's also caused a larger and a should-know-better cadre on the left to display their full ignorance of history as they try to get out every denouncement they can get past the foam in their mouths. Trump was always the consequence of a dangerously detached and elitist political movement, he was never the cause of it. If we're not careful we'll be getting folks in MAGA hats putting on yellow road hazard vests.
At some point you have to face the facts. I know that you are unwilling to do that but you will be the first one to proclaim that you had nothing to do with the Trump Regime. I'm sure that people that remained "neutral" during Hitler's reign were able to deal with their conscience better as well.....I get it. ;)

Nazis Clarify They're Only Calling For 'Democratic Nazism'
At a press conference on Thursday, American Nazi Party leader Emmett Scoggins told reporters that his group is not trying to instate full-on Nazism, but a much better system called “democratic Nazism.”

“People have us all wrong,” Scoggins explained. “We love democracy. We want people to be able to freely vote and have a voice at the ballot box.”

Reporters asked Scoggins if, under democratic Nazism, people could just use their democratic voting rights to vote against Nazism. He replied, “No, they could not. That wouldn’t be one of the things you could vote for.” He then clarified, “The things you could vote for would be stuff like how Nazi should we go? Double-Nazi? Triple-Nazi? Nazi-nine-thousand? The choices would be endless, but of course all Nazi choices.”

I said during the campaign and I say it now: I do see similarities between the Hitler phenomenon and the Trump phenomenon. I've said all along that I don't think what happened with Hitler can happen here. I think our system is too robust. But when I see Trump and the crowds at Trump rallies that does very much remind me of the old videos of Hitler at Hitler rallies. The demagogue and the mind numbed zombies responding to his demagoguery.

Also, I think he is similar in his scapegoating tactics.

But I have always been more concerned about having 40 something percent of the American population respond as Hitler's audiences responded than by Trump himself. The problem is much more with the American population than it is with Trump himself. Fortunately it's not a majority. But it's a darned big minority and it's very disconcerting.

Well, I didn't know that. I just noted that there are certain similarities in terms of the demagoguery and the responses of people at rallies along with the scapegoating tactics. And I do think the fact that we have a substantial portion of the population that will go with somebody like Trump and his demagoguery is disconcerting. We are a country depending on the basic quality of "The People." And the fact that somebody like Trump could become President reveals that we have a problem with a substantial proportion of "The People."

A-fucking-men. Obama wrote the damned book on giant crowds of mind-numbed zombies....there’s a reason the term “obamabot” was coined. And scapegoating? He spent 8 solid years blaming everything he could find on GWB. In 8 years as president, not a single thing was his fault. Always someone else’s....And now he’s spent the past two years taking CREDIT for everything accomplished by Trump (including shit he said was NOT possible). Obama is the fucking poster child when it comes to Hitler-esque politics.

The guy bears watching. He is a liberal and I disagree with him on a number of points.

But he is the ONLY Dem candidate who talks openly about freedom and liberty - not about what we need to coerce or command people to do, but about enhancing personal liberties

I get that a lot of that is lofty platitudes, but he is literally the only candidate saying it and it is the kind of message that will peel off a LOT of normals in the Dem party

Plus which other candidates have more experience actually running something? Inslee and who else. I'm guessing that running South Bend prepares someone better than running a congressional staff.
