Story has completely changed now. New version: There were NO dogs on the boat. Only two people on the boat were her and her husband. (Allegedly) 60+ mile/hour winds kicked up and blew her off the boat and husband jumped in to save her because he couldn't (apparently) figure out how to turn the fucking boat around. Couldn't find her in the swells and was rescued several hours later by a 3rd party who wasn't even looking for him, but just happened to be in the area.

Beautiful thing about surviving? You get to write the narrative any way that works...

I'd have thrown a marker and tried to pick her up on the return trip.
