Ya think? Amash has a lot of positive qualities. But I find it funny how he finally had enough to leave the GOP after he got a primary opponent and could see he was going to lose.

He's just another politician that likes to hear himself talk and wants to get invited to the "cool kid" parties in DC.

Still waiting for dback to condemn his ideological girlfriends Omar (D-Somalia) and Tlaib (D-Palestine) for their inflammatory comments and bigotry.

It really is too bad that we have Trump in this situation...

A calm, measured, non-tweet farting criticism of the comments from The Squat would still be met with accusations of racism - just ask the Speaker of the House

No he's not. So he could see that he cannot be principled and win a Republican primary. That's fine. What he is is a person who puts principle before Party. There SHOULD be a lot more like him. But right now the Republican Party is largely hostage to the fact that there is a critical mass of the Republican base composed if ignorant, hateful people. And those willing to display a "Profile in Courage" like Amash does are few and far between.

The Republican Party has serious problems right now. It's killing itself.

If Trump is as bad as you say why didn't he quit the Republican party when Trump was nominated? Or when Trump was elected? Or prior to running for re-election in 2018 as a Republican? It's because Amash is another worthless politician like the rest of the assholes in DC.

Why don’t you call out Tlaib’s and Omar’s racism and anti-Semitism? Donks are just as blinkered as the Republicans.

When they make racist statements, please let me know.

Same for anti-semetic. Anti-Israel isn't the same as anti-semetic.

And when they are President, get back to me.

Because only conservatives use dog whistles, apparently.

And apparently only conservatives should be held to account for the people they praise or the company they keep.

Cue Clitz with the Buttrumps, I guess

You self-righteous dolt, what do you think Omar’s reference to “Jewish money” is, if not a classic racist trope? Hitler and friends used that one in the 1930s.

WASHINGTON – Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar seems to have deleted the tweets that drew accusations of anti-Semitism from both Republican and Democratic colleagues two weeks ago.

The Minnesota Democrat, along with her appointment to the Foreign Affairs Committee, drew the ire of House Republican leaders because of a 2012 tweet (that was also deleted), in which she accused Israel of having "hypnotized the world." She then sparked more outrage with tweets criticizing the influence of pro-Israel lobbying groups.

Sure it can be but is it always dishonest? do they get a special pass? I’ve heard plenty of Jewish comedians use the money trope.

Comedians? C'mon kalm. Comedians are using it to poke fun at society. They aren't US Congresswomen in a position of leadership and authority.

Huge difference there.

The dual loyalty one is worse -

And ironic coming from someone who would be defended by the woke brigade if she was accused of having split loyalties between her country and her religion

If that were true, he probably wouldn't be down double digits.
If it were the general election you would have a point.

I'd say a lot depends on how much truth there is to the accusations that he rapes children. If it turns out he does he'll be left with only with the bitter-enders, about 30%. Most of who probably fvck children themselves. :coffee:
