California Gun Laws Fail Again

Lots of victims made by California gun laws that failed once again to protect the citizens of that POS state.

That garlic festival needed ALOT more Gun Free Zone Signs. If the shooter could even read.

Gun rights people need to be careful here in talking about the failure of laws because this is one of those situations in which the shooter bought a gun that was legal in a neighboring State then illegally brought it into California. Whey you raise the issue of laws the obvious response is to say that the Federal government needs to do something to make sure we don't have various State laws that allow different things. The obvious response is to say that the Federal government needs to make sure such a weapon cannot be purchased in ANY State.

California can say that it was not a failure of THEIR law. THEIR law prohibits that weapon. The failure, they can say, is associated with the fact that someone can buy a gun like that in Nevada.

It's no different than an illegal coming across the border so it doesnt matter............

If you parse the language you can see that it does not make a militia, well regulated or otherwise, a condition of the right. It just cites the need for a well regulated militia as the reason for the right. It doesn't say someone has to be in a militia in order to have the right.

It's kind of moot though because we set precedents of infringing on the right already. It doesn't say "guns" for instance. It says "arms." We already established the precedent of saying it's OK for the Federal government to prohibit possession of many arms based on their potential for destruction. There's no real change in principle in going from saying "no automatic weapons" to saying "no semi-automatic weapons."

So that's El Paso and Dayton every day, every week, every month, every year. People only care about the mass shootings more because it's political and on the news all day.

A kid gets run over by a drunk driver in Iowa and nobody outside of Iowa hears about it. A kid falls into a well in Iowa and the entire country is riveted until he is rescued. Go figure.

The AR-15 is designed to look tactical and therefore people think it's an assault rifle.
