Why?oming went into Tennesee last year and beat the Vols.

Granted the Vols were not that good but it was and SEC team at HOME and somehow the Cowboys won that game. (I love that BTW)

Weber St does have a very solid offense but they are playing UW in Laramie and the strength of the Cowboys team is their defense. Higgins had his best year last year and history tells us he wont do the same thing again this year.

If UW doesnt turn the ball over more than 3 times they win this walking away.

If they have a +4 TO margin then the Weebs can hang with them.

My prediction

Weebs - 23

Why?oming - 31

Did you also notice the close game they played with that mediocre North Dakota State team in the third game of the season? And why exactly do you not think Higgins will do better this year?

Also, you have to keep in mind that UW is going to have a new coach, so there could be a problem with adjustment for Wyoming.

I think Weber State will beat Wyoming. Dave Christensen just doesn't have the talent at Wyoming to run that offense right now. If the Cats can move the ball well against a tough Cowboy defense, they have a shot, I don't see Wyoming scoring more then 17 points. Not after the way they performed this spring, things aren't going well when your coach describes your spring progress as "pathetic". I imagine the Pokes will be looking ahead to their game with Texas the following week as well.

Try to remember people, if it wasn't for kicker Jake Scott, Wyoming would have lost to North Dakota State last year. An NDSU team who has had better seasons.

Another thing to keep in mind is that turned the ball over four times to Wyoming's one. When you have a turnover differential of -3 and lose by 3, well I'm not sure I'd bet against that team to lose twice in a row if the game was played again.

Higgins will do fine but wont put up numbers like he did last year, rarely happens that guys have back to back years like that. If he does I will admit I was wrong and give him kudos, but I wont bank on him repeating last seasons success.

Yes, Why?oming has a new coach and new systems take time, but they are playing down and from what I have read and heard about the new coach, he is really whipping those dudes into a team. Way different atmosphere than what Glenn had going on there.

I am contemplating driving down for the Texas game if they can convince me they have a shot at beating those burnt orange POS.

Sorry, but Weber is gonna get rolled.

This thread has been ongoing I think because I think most think this might be one of the best FCS chances this upcoming season.

As for Higgins repeating his numbers, yes, its a lot to do AGAIN/live up to after that amazing season. If he is healthy I think he could though with a good line and surrounded by very good skilled positions.

Keep in mind he was only a soph last year.

He still has Trevyn who rushed for over 1,200+ yrds 3 yrs straight.

Do UM fans want WSU to lose to WYO? Either way the Wyo game means next to nothing compared to the UM game in Missoula on Halloween. If WSU is able to pull off a W in Laramie I guess it would help in the rankings a little.

Why do you keep asking this? How many times do Griz fans have to say that we would hope you win as it makes the conference stronger and would look better for us whether we win or lose to Weber in Oct.? Let's stop with the silly questions and treading the same ground.

This is correct...though in between these 2 Big Sky losses WSU dropped 49 pts on No. 3 ranked Cal Poly in an NCAA playoff 1st rd win.

That was ashame Poly's kicker sucked so bad, they woulda gone 2-0 vs FBS.
Beating a Chuck Long coached San Diego State should NOT count towards anything...taking Wisconsin to the brink definitely does...

This thread is 8 pages long because people like me go on massive benders on Wednesday...which normally continue through Sunday...and Weber will lose to the Cowboys...but they have a shot in Fort Collins as did Sac State had a year ago.

So by that logic, Montana wouldnt be able to win in Laramie next year either, because you couldnt win in Ogden.

And if you wouldnt be able to beat Wyoming, why do so many UM fans think they would be competitive in the WAC?
Because UM has A LOT of dumb mutha fu*kers as fans, thats why.

Sac shoulda won...Cal Poly shoulda won...we'll see if WSU can pull it off. WSU hung in there last yr with Hawaii but blew it in the 3rd.

I root for all Sky teams to win, I'd love to see UM play some FBS' since they'd have a real chance to win.

Weber has an excellent shot at beating the 'pokes. No starting QB, lost 2 receivers due to suspension, top RB from last year graduated, new coach with new system, etc. This is a great time to be playing Wyo, and get the first win over a BCS division program.

"Why has this thread gone on as long as it has?" I don't know!!! Ask the W.T.'s from up north. There are two things we know. Weber is bringing back a team that "supposedly" is better than last years team. (FYI- I have seen them practice and they are better) Why?oming (as all you W.T.'s out there like to call them) is a below sub-par team from the Mountain West Conference.
Weber put up 21 points on the board against the #2 team in the nation (University of Utah) so wouldn't you assume if Weber is bringing back a team that is better than last year... wouldn't Weber beat a W.T. team from the middle of nowhere in Cheyenne Wyoming. "Beautiful campus there."
