Are you referring to the 70 year old white woman that lied about her ancestry to gain admission to schools?

Release the fucking complaint to the committees as required by law. :coffee:
Is it required by law? Trump doesn't fall under the intelligence community does he?

Also, yes, let's move the goalposts and see what a guy who didn't hear the conversation has to see versus those that were in the room.

And then there is Joe Biden. In 2016, the then-vice president threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees to Ukraine if the government did not fire the country’s top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin. According to the New York Times, “Among those who had a stake in the outcome was Hunter Biden … who at the time was on the board of an energy company owned by a Ukrainian oligarch who had been in the sights of the fired prosecutor general.”
So what's worse, using financial aide as a bargaining chip to get dirt on a political opponent, or doing it to impinge on another country's sovereignty for the benefit of your son?

Like I said, this is why I can't muster a schit to give when these revelations about Trump come to light. Am I supposed to care more about this stuff when Trump does it because he's a goofball?
Does one have to be worst than the other? Can’t they both be wrong and we just leave it at that?

Yup. - trump moved goalposts on this one. Yesterday he was releasing a transcript.

That isn’t what we have today.

Good call, BTK

The only moving of the goalposts was Trump suggesting releasing this "transcript" instead of the complaint going to the intelligence committees.

This is the recap:

1. Whistleblower files complaint detailing multiple actions
2. IGIC reviews it and determines it's credible and urgent
3. DNI refuses it to be sent to the intelligence committees as required by law.
4. Intelligence Committee complains about not receiving the complaint.
5. Trump says "ok, I'll release a summary of a phone call."
6. Oh. Now you want the complaint released to the intelligence committees??? Why are you moving the goslposts???

Let's not forget Trump said that he'd release the complete transcript (he didn't), and #3 is an impeachable offense in itself. And even with the redacted memo released by the White House itself, it still looks bad for Trump (and others). Imagine what the full transcript looks like...

There were multiple actions detailed by the whistleblower and deemed urgent and credible by the IG.

This phone call is one of them.

The whistleblower's complaint, as required to be handed over by law, sure would be nice.

Hey at least the rest of you actually have contributions and arguments. 89 just says a sentence or two, often half of it is name-calling. And when he does contribute, it's completely void of any sort of morality.

He is by far, almost terrifyingly the least empathetic person on this board. Even Alpha, who I can't stand, lived by some ideals I could somewhat respect.

What if the summary conveniently leaves something out?

The document makes clear it is not a verbatim transcript of the conversation. Call me crazy, but I'd want the actual conversation. Perhaps those that were taking notes didn't hear something, or something got lost in translation. What we have is the combination of the note takers confirming what they wrote down and what the voice recognition software captured. Maybe it is the best. I read it briefly. What's Rush saying? I'm sure he's got it all figured out.

I don't know how you can possibly read this and conclude there is some kind of quid pro quo.

I mean, I agree with Jelly that we need to also see what the whistleblower filed and any other conversations, but there is jack schit here and I don't know what some of the leftists who are chirping about this transcript are seeing.

It sounds like Zelenskyy is trying to butter him up and Trump does mention Biden but there's no real threat at all - even a veiled one (as if Trump is good with subtlety and putting subtext in his words).
