https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/463 ... t-to-trumpThe Senate passed a stopgap spending bill Thursday, days before the deadline to prevent a government shutdown. Senators voted 82-15 on the continuing resolution (CR), which will fund the government through Nov. 21. Lawmakers had until Monday night to prevent the second funding lapse of the year. The measure, which passed the House last week, now heads to President Trump’s desk, where White House officials have said they expect him to sign it.
I'm keenly interested in this one, because I do not want a shutdown crossing from January 4 to January 5, 2020, because that is when my current health care plan ends and the new one would begin. I cannot have a gap in coverage or be left under my current plan while receiving cancer treatment. I don't believe that occurred during the last one, but I'm not entirely sure. Staying under my current plan would cost me a boatload next year.
