Re: The Trump Whistleblower Extravaganza Thread
The complaint itself names people who were privy to what the complainant alleges. Those people need to be questioned by Congress. I'm surprised they are not already under subpoena, actually. I am pretty sure that someone will argue that the complaint should be considered on its own merits, but the IC changed the rule on hearsay vs. firsthand knowledge in August, so we are in uncharted territory. I think that given the rule change, it is appropriate to question people with firsthand knowledge of the events in the complaint.JohnStOnge wrote:All other things aside, the person who made the complaint is not a leaker. The person went through the legal process provided for making the Congress of the United States aware of their concern. Had the person gone to the Washington Post that would be leaking. Going through the legal process for expressing concern to Congress based on what the person was being told by White House officials is not leaking.CitadelGrad wrote: Two of the people who the leaker identified as being present for the call were not even there and had no knowledge of the details of the call.
Edit: Jonathan Turley suggests that Bolton might well know the truth in most of this:

How do you get stupid enough to even have that conversation when you know the Sneaky Pete's are listening to every word and that they change governments for a living? And ffs how in the world do you ask Rudy G to cover it up? Trump has confirmed some things.CitadelGrad wrote:I'm not sure what has been proven accurate. Two of the people who the leaker identified as being present for the call were not even there and had no knowledge of the details of the call.JohnStOnge wrote:
The problem for those of you that want to go down that road is that the complaint is totally consistent with the memo with notes on the conversation. So you can say it was "hearsay" but the "hearsay" is seen to be accurate. The complaint's claim that the memo was unusually placed into a higher security storage system has also been shown to be true. It's kind of hard to attack the "hearsay" thing when stuff keeps coming out to validate the complaint.
What the intelligence community might do, BTW, is let those of us that are blind to it at this point know that we have a complete nut job atrocity who is doing all sorts of unacceptable things as President right now. Or at least they can try.
But he's a liar so who knows that's going on.

OK, Mr. Naive.
You're making an assumption based off your own political leanings. Believe it or not, it is possible for a Republican to have ethics and call out something that's wrong, even if it's against a fellow Republican.

I’m already bored by the whole Trump-Ukie fiasco. What has been made abundantly clear to me in the past week is that Stephen Miller is an Uber-creep who is probably a direct descendant of Joseph Goebbels. Which is a neat trick for a Jewish guy.
