Nats and Rays, for me. But that’s as far as the Nats will get.

Brewers and A's for me. Neither team goes anywhere, not a good year for the wild card teams going forward.

The Rays have healthy pitching now after managing a patchwork staff through much of the season. I'm not sure anyone is looking forward to series with them if they can manage to get past the A's.

Want Brewers and A’s, A’s and Nats win. I think the A’s take down the Skankees, and Dodgers eliminate Nats. Houston to take it all.

Of all the teams I know the least about the Rays. They're like the Astros... came out of nowhere.

They are average offensively, but their top three starters (Morton, Snell and Glasnow) all have shut down stuff.

Second year guy (DH,RF) Austin Meadows is going to be a star. Unfortunately, he will be playing for a big market club in another three years.

Other than that, they have a lineup of guys that are average to slightly above average ball players.

They play hard and do the little things to manufacture runs that a lot of clubs don't do.

This is why I think the Wild Card Games are a mistake. Either you blow your shot in the WCG and stand at a disadvantage for the first few games of the Divisional Series, or you take the risk of losing the WCG by playing a lesser starter in order to protect your position in the LDS.

If we are going to have this many wild card teams, we should have a three- or five-game Wild Card Series. Actually, I'd go for a three-game WCS, followed by a five-game LDS and a five-game LCS. Of course, the World Series has to go seven. Unless you want to bring back the super-old nine-game WS. That's probably a bit much, though....

Cold weather keeps the playoff rounds to a minimum. Don't want to be playing in Minnesota or New York, much into November.

Any baseball in November is bad. At least MLB has gotten that right and has things finishing before the end of October. Barely, but still keeps it in October. Wild card teams should feel lucky they are even still alive, so getting the disadvantage of having to play a do or die game is just part of the territory. There has to be an advantage to winning your division or why even have divisions?

So cut back to 154 (and get rid of Interleague play while you're at it).

No, I don't hate the Natinals. It's tough to hate a hapless team that's never won anything. If their fans weren't douchebags, I'd almost feel sorry for the team.

Not so sure about that. Snell and Yarbrough struggled down the stretch. Not sure if they are going to be effective inning eaters. Snell hasn't pitched more than 2-1/3 innings since coming back in mid Sept. Yarbrough had a bad September after a great July and August. Rays will need Chirinos and Morton to eat a lot of innings.

I actually like the format, wild cards did not win their divisions and should have to earn their way in. Also, 1 game playoffs are fun.

Glasgow and Morton have been dominant as of late. Snell has been brought back slowly after an injury plagued season, but hasn't been terrible. He has a 2.75 ERA in his last seven starts. He won't have such a short leash if he is pitching well in the playoffs. He certainly has the potential to be dominant.

Edit - I forgot to address Yarbrough - he is the Rays #4 starter. He's inconsistent, but better than most number fours.
