Re: MLB Wild Card Games
Well that was interesting. I'd say fun, but it was only fun for 9 minutes of the game. I was really close to turning it off because my blood pressure was getting way too high.
- Stras was a stud, clearly he should have been the starter but that's easy to say now
- Rendon was MIA, his only highlight was a walk
- That was the craziest I've ever seen Nats stadium, even more than the Werth walk-off
- Anyone catch the Brewer bench player egging on the Nats fans and sticking his tongue out at them from the dugout?
- Biggest down side is Scherzer AND Stras had to be used

Looks like the Nats could use a star.89Hen wrote:Ask Bryce. He's sitting at home with nothing to do.93henfan wrote:Does Amazon sell Dodger Dogs?
Attendance down over 10% this year, even with all the charitable help of tens of thousands of Phils fans like me.
Ouch!
Tough times for small market teams like the Nats:

Re: RE: Re: MLB Wild Card Games
I follow Yarbrough closely. Not sure if I would call it inconsistent. He gets into mechanical funks. He was sent down earlier this year to get it fixed. Came back and was great. But September has been awful. Might be another mechanical funk. He is a finesse pitcher that paints the corners with pitches in the 80's. Gotta be perfect.SunCoastBlueHen wrote:Glasgow and Morton have been dominant as of late. Snell has been brought back slowly after an injury plagued season, but hasn't been terrible. He has a 2.75 ERA in his last seven starts. He won't have such a short leash if he is pitching well in the playoffs. He certainly has the potential to be dominant.CAA Flagship wrote: Not so sure about that. Snell and Yarbrough struggled down the stretch. Not sure if they are going to be effective inning eaters. Snell hasn't pitched more than 2-1/3 innings since coming back in mid Sept. Yarbrough had a bad September after a great July and August. Rays will need Chirinos and Morton to eat a lot of innings.
Edit - I forgot to address Yarbrough - he is the Rays #4 starter. He's inconsistent, but better than most number fours.

Phils attendance WAY up. 26%
Just a far better fan base in general. Always has been. Always will be.

I found it interesting to bring in Hudson over Doolittle.89Hen wrote:Well that was interesting. I'd say fun, but it was only fun for 9 minutes of the game. I was really close to turning it off because my blood pressure was getting way too high.

Not sure if that is because of Hudson or Doolittle.

Hudson is simply better right now. Doo hasn't been himself since going on the IR a while back.CAA Flagship wrote:I found it interesting to bring in Hudson over Doolittle.
Not sure if that is because of Hudson or Doolittle.

Nats will be eliminated by the end of next week. Congrats.89Hen wrote:I'd rather be better on the field, but hey, whatever gets your juices flowing.93henfan wrote:Phils attendance WAY up. 26%![]()

Better than being eliminated at Nats Park last week. Keep trying 93.93henfan wrote:Nats will be eliminated by the end of next week. Congrats.89Hen wrote: I'd rather be better on the field, but hey, whatever gets your juices flowing.

Very little. Most wins in franchise history... they've had some pretty damn good teams. Not having Stras is a huge blow and why I think the WC game is stupid and goes against everything baseball.Ivytalk wrote:Nats have no shot against LA.

Re: MLB Wild Card Games
Anything can happen in a short series, but the Dodgers are way better.

If we were more traditional then the Nats would be at home watching on tv since they didn't win their division. Be glad for what you have. With that said, I think the Nats take it to Game 5 and lose in spectacularly painful fashion - it's just what they do.89Hen wrote:Very little. Hey, man. Do you have any locks for the divisional series? I'm thinking of making some wagers and your input could be valuable.SDHornet wrote:A's are a lock.
