They should set up a G-League team in Seattle.JALMOND wrote:The G-League acts as a minor league system, but not all teams have an affiliation. The Blazers, in fact, do not, however, they can send players down to a G-League team for assignment and still retain them. That won't happen. Seattle considers Portland to be so far beneath them, although Key Arena is more closer to G-League size than NBA size. Portland supports the Seahawks and Mariners, but Seattle has never fully embraced the Blazers since the Sonics left. While they will show up occasionally for Blazer games, they wear their Sonic jerseys and just sit there, like they are making a statement or something. Annoying, for sure.UNI88 wrote:They should set up a G-League team in Seattle.JALMOND wrote:

It was tongue in cheek. I picked up the Seattle disdain for Portland pretty quickly. They would boycott a Blazers G-League team out of spite.JALMOND wrote:That won't happen. I enjoyed both when I visited, but preferred Portland.UNI88 wrote:It was tongue in cheek. I picked up the Seattle disdain for Portland pretty quickly. They would boycott a Blazers G-League team out of spite.JALMOND wrote:

I didn’t consider the impacts on other sports...

We’re still talking about a tiny minority of athletes that have the juice to make big money. The mega programs will flood the market with cash and look! Alabama wins another title! If anything it will hurt the brand by further reducing competition. Or it could be interesting when the natural gas tycoon in Laramie spends his fuck you money to steal the #1 recruit for the Pokes.
It will be interesting.
