Not sure what you're talking about. I've been open about it for at least a year, maybe two now. I used to be against it but see the economic and social benefits of an open-border now.

Anyways, I'll vote for the candidate that closest aligns with my views. I don't have to agree with them on everything, as long as what I disagree with isn't completely f*cked up on their end.

Illegal immigration provides no more economic and social benefits than legal immigration does. Wanna come and visit? We welcome you with open arms for as long as your legal presence allows. Same with temporary work. Want to be a permanent resident, get in line, and we'll let you know.

I'm for immigration because I know the economic importance that a growing population provides. And if the numbers show that we need to increase the number, then I'm in favor of it. But right now, the illegal immigration problem will prevent those numbers going up. It's like a fixed-space concert where people who purchased tickets can't get in because there is no more room since so many people illegally entered and filled up the space.

Any person with a minimally working thought process would agree that votes for candidates are not 100%. Some got with their most important issue. Some go with the one that checks the most boxes. But I doubt that a majority of voters in Fairfax Co. would be in favor of not cooperating with ICE. And I doubt that the candidates that ran on that policy, were voted in strictly because of that.

From a poll conducted earlier this year:

Focusing in on immigration, Fairfax County voters support (by a 63%-37% margin) “Fairfax County funding legal representation for county residents facing deportation.”

Also, by a 51%-33% margin, respondents say they would be more likely “to vote for a Fairfax County Supervisor if he or she supported funding legal representation for county residents facing deportation.”

By a 69%-31% margin, county voters support “Fairfax County funding outreach services, including ‘know your rights’ trainings and deportation defense classes, to help county residents avoid deportation.”

Should Fairfax County “stay out of federal immigration enforcement by not turning county residents over to the federal government for deportation?” 68% say that is important, and by a 55%-30% margin they say it would make them more “likely to vote for a Fairfax County Supervisor if he or she supported local policies that kept Fairfax County out of federal immigration enforcement.”

I see what you did there. There were actually two questions to choose from. 71.4% chose path to citizenship if they meet certain criteria.... Well they didn't ask the question of what to do if they didn't meet the criteria.

People basically said, "what's done is done, let it be". But ask them if they would be OK if the county's (or country's) illegal immigrant population doubled or tripled over the next 5 years.

I just don't believe that poll truly captured the correct shade of gray on this issue.

They're not quite as receptive to smart lead pipe technology though. That's a slippery slope.

Not much time went by without an assault or disturbance in the homeless shelter downtown in Charleston. Including the occasional murder

We mainstreamed these people in the 1970s and emptied out the institutions. This is the result. But institutionalizing them also comes with its own inhumanity. There really isn’t a good solution

I know the homeless in my four blocks of DC. The ones who acknowledge me and make small talk don't make me nervous. It's the ones making small talk with the people who aren't there who I keep my eye on.

A few months back I was having lunch out in the hotel courtyard and heard a commotion around the corner and then one of the schizo homeless appeared and looked up and screamed at the top of his lungs, "THIS IS BULLSHIT".

Good thing I was almost done. I GTFO of there stat!
