I'm sorry but a double digit win is not "barely" beating you. Granted it wasn't a traditional Weber asswhooping like every year past..... Your offense was shut-down and your team pee'd down their leg in the 4th because in the playoffs it's a totally new season, and you just can't quite hang with the big boys.bengalhater wrote:Correction... Thats right! And the thought of having to play Montana AGAIN...AT WASH GRIZ....after you already beat them, is enough to make ANY teams' stomach turn! Weber just wasnt up to the challenge...DuckDuckGriz wrote:Your offense was shut-down and your team pee'd down their leg in the 4th because in the playoffs it's a totally new season, and you just can't quite hang with the big boys.

When is the last time Weber won a game vs. a FBS team? Well, not in my lifetime!
What happened last time Weber and Wyoming played? 41-16 loss.
Weber beats Montana once and wins one playoff game, now they're the top of the world. haha. But good luck against one the FBSs top defenses! Should go well!

I know it is, I use to live there.bengalhater wrote:Cheyenne is the middle of nowhere you idiot... Just like that thriving metropolis in Bozeman and Mizzoula.
Middle of nowhere or not, the point I was TRYING to make is that the Pokes play in Laramie...not Cheyenne. There isn't a stadium in Cheyenne that would/could accommodate a game like this...unless things have changed since my last visit. Apparently I was typing too fast, and that fact flew right over your head, me thinks!

Weber has 4 or 5 wins against FBS. I could look em up on the college football datawarehouse site but I'm too lazy.
...and I'm not counting UNLV when they were DII and Boise St, Idaho & Nevada when they were FCS.

I already checked CFDB. And if my eyes didn't fail me, you haven't beaten anyone since at least 1970 when I quit looking.

You need to look just after Boise/Nevada/Idaho left the big sky, you'll see a few there. there was one in the mid 70s to I think.MrTitleist wrote:I already checked CFDB. And if my eyes didn't fail me, you haven't beaten anyone since at least 1970 when I quit looking.

Re: Will FCS Weber beat FBS Wyoming on Sep 5?
I don't know if we can really count them, but Weber beat New Mexico State in 1972 (LOOOOOOOOOL), and as has been stated previously UNLV, but the Rebels were a lowly DII team then, but for some reason Weber's atheltic department count that as a DI FBS victory. WEIRD things are prone to happen in Ogden. In the 90s Weber beat Nevada twice after the Wolf Pack had left the Sky for the Big West (Weber beat Nevada the same year they won the Big West) and Weber has a win over Idaho after they left the Sky, but really, does that even count?? IDAHO should be in the SKY still. Weber did have some close games against Toledo, Central Michigan, and Eastern Michigan in the 90s. But nothing like Apps win over Michigan (I'm still in shock), or Montana States win over Colorado. As for Weber beating Wyoming...if there is a year that the Cowboys are vulnerable its this one, but playing in Laramie and coming out with a win, no matter how good the Cowboys are, is very very difficult. No matter...I love seeing the under-dogs pulling out W's against the FBS powers.weberwildcat wrote:You need to look just after Boise/Nevada/Idaho left the big sky, you'll see a few there. there was one in the mid 70s to I think.MrTitleist wrote:I already checked CFDB. When I was looking, it looked to me like the wins vs. Nevada and Idaho were when they were still in the Big Sky, if I had their dates of leaving right. New Mexico State was in the University Division, whatever the hell that means.

Nevada's last year in the Big Sky was 91 or maybe 92 and Idaho and Boise left after the 1995 season.MrTitleist wrote:When I was looking, it looked to me like the wins vs. Nevada and Idaho were when they were still in the Big Sky, if I had their dates of leaving right. Re: Will FCS Weber beat FBS Wyoming on Sep 5?
All whining, homerism, and smack aside, this year is probably Weber's and the Big Sky's best chance for a quality FBS win for quite some time.
Sagarin's ratings - which aren't particulalry accurate for predicting the first games of the season but are probably the best we've got - give Weber an advantage over Wyoming and a fighting chance against Colorado State.
Wyoming does have a good defense but are a relatively weak FBS team and possibly vulnerable during their transition period. Colorado has had a better run than Wyoming of late, but were down in the middle of the fourth quarter by three points to Sacramento State early last season and only won it by a field goal with time expiring.

We barely beat Sac n UNC last year...then we score 45+ against #3 UM (1st game)and #3 Cal Poly.
WSU can win this one as easily as lose this one. Who ever brings the A game can win it.

If you get a 17 point head start...............maybe you hang and lose a close one.
If not, you really have no chance unless Why?oming has more than 4 turnovers.

According to Weber's Athletic Dept. (SID who is a complete idiot and is LAZY) Weber beat Nevada twice when they were in the Big West and Idaho once. Oh Weber will beat Wyoming.

Not saying it isn't a good argument about scoring against UM and Cal Poly but you were the recipient of UM's turnover prone 3 game series in the middle of the season and your offense only had to go about 35 yds. for each score. If you can do that against Wyoming then I think you will definitely win that game.weberwildcat wrote:We barely beat Sac n UNC last year...then we score 45+ against #3 UM (1st game)and #3 Cal Poly.

IMO, **IF** they do, it will be when Eastern finishes 1st in the Sky and/or eligible for playoffs. THEN & ONLY THEN, will they lift the ban. It makes no sense for them to show leniency ( which will kinda look bad for the NCAA anyway) before the reg. season starts and run the risk that Eastern never makes the playoffs.SUUTbird wrote:And wondering Blackfalkin since you seem to actually be posting again, any word on wether or not the ban on eastern will be lifted?
