Your Political Compass

Post by AZGrizFan »

I am almost positive we’ve gone through this exercise before, but treep’s unsolicited shot across my bow yesterday about the “dangers of unhinged grandpas like AZ” to society got me thinking....where exactly DO I stand, relative to the rest of humanity? Am I really that much of an outlier? So i took this test and, lo and behold, I’m right where I thought I was. Perfectly centered in my beliefs and more of a socially progressive libertarian. So, in closing: Suck it, treep. YOU are the outlier.

The American center and Democrats are regressive or conservatives.

Look at all the conservative garbage that the Dems have put up in the primary

Even European conservatives joke at how conservative our "left" actually is. This nation is so far behind other developed nations that we think people like Warren and Sanders are actually "far left". And our right are just extremists at this point.

Social issues always push me left. I don't care what people do in their bedrooms. I don't believe schools should teach religion - aren't parents and churches enough? And I think the wealthy should pay their fair share; not 75% mind you, but a significant amount more than they currently are, and without all the loopholes. And get the fuck out of the endless wars.

And they didn't ask about guns at all, which probably would have, at the very least, centered me, if not pushed me over to the right border. 2A4life. MolonLabe.

But only because it is multiple choice and it does not have an explain your answer portion.

If it did, it would output "Please seek immediate counseling." :coffee:

I have taken it multiple times in the past and there are a few questions that always push me right but they do not distinguish between "personal" and "public" (there is a better word than public that describes this but I am coming up blank) beliefs. I have a few beliefs that I hold to personally but that does not mean I hold other people to the same standard nor do I care if they do something different.

And yet we rule the world. Exactly how are we “behind” them?

I wonder how “developed” they’d be if we told them tomorrow they were now responsible for their own defense and protection. No more help from the America that they apparently hate (and that you hate).

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

I had guessed before taking I would be straddling the Authoritarian/Libertarian line, right of center. Pretty close.
