Dodgers do claim 1955, and Lakers claim 5 Minneapolis titles. Depends on how the new ownership treats it.89Hen wrote:I don't disagree with that, but if the Yankees moved to Las Vegas tomorrow, would they really celebrate 27 World Series victories? The strike in 1994 basically killed the Expos. They were by far the best team in the NL and probably win the series. After they lost out there, apathy slowly set in at Montreal. Hopefully, the Rays will move there.

Yep, it's their year. Astros completely self-destruct in the 7th. Nats just need two more.

Houston certainly has dug a deep hole, not impossible to comeback and win, but looking bad for them.

One thing I never noticed until just this morning on the Metro: everyone in DC is a Nationals fan. They've been hiding all these hats and jackets all year.

Cheapest seat for Saturday is $1274 (standing room for $1100). Two front row behind the dish (where the moron from Miami will be sitting) are currently listed for $22,999 each.Chizzang wrote:Nationals Park is going to be absolute chaos on Friday night...

Many, many people were wearing Oshi shirts when I moved to STL. Woopsie.89Hen wrote:CID1990 wrote:

Some guy called in to sports talk this morning asking which Nat to buy and the answer was a resounding Soto. He's the youngest guy they have under their control for the longest. But I think Scherzer, Zimmerman, Turner... are good options. No way I'd be buying a Rendon jersey yet.

Re: 2019 MLB World Series
So Nats announce that Chad Cordero will throw out the first pitch to Brian Schneider tonight for Game 3. You have to be a REALLY big Nats fan to remember those guys.
Schneider is actually my cousin's nephew, so I do remember him because I followed his career from afar. Cordero was an Expo and was a stud closer the first year of the Nats (All Star and got Cy Young votes), but the team stunk, they played at shitty RFK and 90% of the fans who will be there tonight will have no clue who he is. If you have to explain to fans who they are, they probably shouldn't be throwing out the first pitch in the first WS game in DC since the 1933.
Jayson Werth would have been a MUCH better choice if the goal is to fire up the fans.

But isn’t Werth on a roster.

He was in attendance for a couple of the Nats home games this post season.

I voted for the Nats in 4.
My vote is purely EC(b).
