Trump is just like Biden in one key respect: the home team always loses when he shows up in person!

It's comparatively safe. Deanwood and Minnesota Ave are the stations with most of the shooting and crime scene tape on my daily travel. Lot of murders last year. This year has been pretty tame.

So the Nats wore their blue jerseys at home because they were playing so well in them.
But once you lose two in a row, shouldn't you switch to red or white?

I said that last night. Should have pulled out the reds.

Not sure about that, but in the ‘96 WS the road team won the first 5 games before the Yankees beat the Braves in the Bronx to clinch it in game 6.

Surprised that JoltinJoe hadn’t surfaced yet with that factoid. :coffee:
Suffered through Games 1 and 2 in person. Brutal. Also was there for Game 6 and enjoyed that one a lot more.

I'll never forget. Lempke had just fouled one out of the reach of 3B Charlie Hayes. On the next pitch, another foul in the same area. We were down the right field line, not far from the RF foul pole. I was wondering if this ball would stay in. I had no idea given our angle.

And then, suddenly, there was a simultaneous blast of hundreds of flash bulbs coming from the left field side of the stadium. That's when I realized that the people with the best view of the foul ball KNEW the ball was in the field of play. A surreal moment. I can still see those flash bulbs going off in my mind.

Anyone catch the titties being flashed behind the dish last night? That was the lone highlight of the game for anyone who wasn't an Astros fan.

At least someone on the Washington side got to second base last night.

Verlander, who rarely has 2 bad outings in a row, wins a tight battle with Strasburg tomorrow night.

Even if you were a Nationals fan, that should of brightened your day a bit.
During the 7th Inning Sunday, two female fans, who have been identified as famed Instagram models Julia Rose and Lauren Summer were spotted flashing Houston pitcher Gerrit Cole in effort to distract him. Cole called time shortly after noticing the two.

Yeah, except they both are pretty darn hot, and we only got to see them for a second and not well. Apparently one of the two does this practically daily.

If either of them need more practice flashing people, I offer up my deck free of charge.

One Washington Nationals fan was faced with a truly impossible decision Sunday night: Catch a home run ball at the World Series, or keep both beers he was holding onto in each hand.

He chose both. Sort of.

The fan out in center field was in the position so many baseball fans have dreamed about: Staring down a home run ball headed right at you. The only problem? He was double fisting, and he wasn't going to give those beers up.

So, a moment of true inspiration, he moved into position and caught the ball the only way he could -- right off his stomach.

On Monday, Bud Light tweeted that they were in contact with the fan and he'd be going to Game 6 in Houston wearing a shirt with his likeness on it.

“AN OPEN LETTER TO NATS FANS

Our family are lifelong, die-hard Astros fans. These World Series opportunities are so rare that we had to come to DC to fully experience the event. Whether in restaurants, on the way to the game, or at our seats, Nats fans have been nothing but thoroughly friendly, engaging and welcoming. Sure, as we walk around in our rainbow Astros gear there is the typical good-natured banter, but none of the true vitriol we have experienced in other cities. There seems to be a true appreciation of what we have in common like passion for the sport, our teams, and the fun of watching two great teams battling it out on the field, rather than a shallow focus on what differentiates us. In a world where unfortunately the focus is quite often put on the latter, I have been truly struck by how well we have been treated.

As I write this, I don’t know the outcome of Game 5, but however the Series ends, our family thanks you!

- AN ANONYMOUS AND APPRECIATIVE ASTROS FAN”

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Well, punch it in, and see what happens. Looks like the poll may be still open.

Is Scherzer well enough to start game 7 if necessary? The Big Mennonite is starting tonight.

I don't know. It's baseball. I'm about as interested in this outcome as 89 is in the MLS Cup game.

Or as 89 is in Saturday’s Delaware game.

I said at the start of the series the Nats had to finish in 4 or 5 to have a chance.
