My Dad was a Methodist minister - Methodists (and other non-Evangelical Christians) don't believe in things like the Rapture (which was invented about the same time as Mormonism). Methodists don't require you to be a member to take communion, or both to be members to get married (or even active in the church).

They believe all of that is between you and God, and outwardly signs of "faith" are unreliable and have zero bearing on your soul or beliefs.

Methodists also believe that they haven't figured out the "ONE TRUE WAY" to God - that is impossible for man to achieve.

I only go after Fundamentalists and that's all I've ever really focused on around here
I was the one that said years ago on this forum that American Christians aren't even really Christians

a) The average american christian has no idea whats actually in the bible
b) doesn't believe jesus is coming back - or buy into the "end times prophecy"
c) and cares little for the accuracy or validity of the miracles

Being a christian is just easy... its what we are in america its not what we believe

Not anything like cosmic santa claus like the base model Christian god - but god nonetheless
