One thing I don’t get. Why are generations named every 16-19 years?
1946-1964
1965-1980
1981-1996
Etc
It doesn’t make sense to have a generation be only 16-19 years. If you had a generation every 16 years, you’d have parents at 16, grandparents at 32, great grandparents at 48, great great grandparents at 64, great great great grandparents at 80. Silly.
Familial generations average closer to 30 years, with most people having their kids between 18 and early 40s. So shouldn’t these named generations should be more like every 28-30 years, not every 16-19?

Actually, in the mountains of Harrisonburg, VA, 16-19 years is pretty close to the mark.

Oh come on, Eileen. That's not their only fault. Pretty sure they really thought Mickey was so fine and actually tried to order a vegemite sandwich at the local deli.CID1990 wrote:Generation X’s only fault is we believed Dexy’s Midnight Runners were really going somewhere

You’ll sing that song along with Mickey and the 3rd verse (same as the first) of Overkill every time they come in the store. You’ll even try and hit higher the octaves but realize you can’t really sing.
BTW, DMR had a 9 year run which included 6 top 20 hits in the UK charts and reformed in 2003.
(Yep...I’m gonna pretend like I knew all that)
