Why?

How much bigger does the circle get if you add in catholic miracles? Aren't most, if not all of those centered around Europe and the Mideast?

Does an outline of Jesus on the end of a loaf of bread count to make the circle bigger?

It's "nonsense" because that's an easier response than acknowledgement of truth

Religion is built on ignorance, fear and control
when you remove the fear and stand face to face with whats left...
there's not much there but willful ignorance and the desire for control

How do you feel about the world that God created 89? Do you think that it should be respected? Preserved? Destroyed? Did HE put it there for us to do what we want with it? Do you look at nature (including us) and say......that is God's miracle. I do.

By the way......I HATE abortion. I also HATE destruction of our environment. Both are accepted and inevitable as our civilizations are currently set up. I certainly don't need organized religion to tell me what is right and what is wrong.....fairly tales and other people telling me how to worship, pray, what to believe, etc.

Religion Inc. sucks....period.

It certainly can suck, but there is no period jeff. There are TONS of great people who do great things within their organized religion. Still a lot to fix, but isn't that the case with any organization of people?

And just so we're clear, my pro-life stance is based on my own thought and logic. I don't adhere to 100% of my religion's beliefs. Hence the 'fix' needed.

How do you feel about the environment....more to the point destruction of the environment? I feel that it is much the same as destruction of human fetuses.

That being said......we have all been thrust into a certain time & place. 2020 on Earth.....we can only control how we as individuals live, think, etc.
Not sure what you're actually asking, but I'm constantly appalled by our consumerism that produces billions of tons of trash and toxins. I don't however agree with comparing it to abortion. Two unrelated topics.

I'm not kidding. I cringe when I see CFA handing out styrofoam cups like napkins. :ohno:

Of all the nanny state things my county does, I'm actually OK with them imposing a 'tax' on bags at the grocery store. Now most folks bring their reusable bags. :thumb:

Oregon law against plastic bags went into effect January 1. It sucks for me because I reused the plastic grocery bags for pet waste and garbage. Living alone I don't throw a lot of stuff away and go through only 5-6 of those bags a month for garbage so it doesn't make sense to use larger garbage bags that will start to smell before they're close to full.

BTW, I guess you're happy to hear this...
Wang Yi, a leader in one of the most well-known Christian congregations in China, has been quietly sentenced to nine years in prison, according to a statement on the website of the Intermediate People's Court of Chengdu Municipality.

The sentencing is the latest incident in an ongoing crackdown on organized religion in China.

Law of unintended consequences.....
Trash bags are thick and use more plastic than typical shopping bags. "So about 30 percent of the plastic that was eliminated by the ban comes back in the form of thicker garbage bags," Taylor says. On top of that, cities that banned plastic bags saw a surge in the use of paper bags, which she estimates resulted in about 80 million pounds of extra paper trash per year.

Plastic haters, it's time to brace yourselves. A bunch of studies find that paper bags are actually worse for the environment. They require cutting down and processing trees, which involves lots of water, toxic chemicals, fuel and heavy machinery. While paper is biodegradable and avoids some of the problems of plastic, Taylor says, the huge increase of paper, together with the uptick in plastic trash bags, means banning plastic shopping bags increases greenhouse gas emissions. That said, these bans do reduce nonbiodegradable litter.

I haven't bought a garbage bag in over a decade. I use grocery bags for garbage bags and for pretty much anything I need a small bag for.

How does a grocery bag fit into a 13 gallon trash can?

They make different sizes of trash cans you know......

Oh....OK. I can't fit kitchen trash into a tiny can like the ones we use in bathrooms. Kudos to you though.

:coffee:
My kitchen garbage is about 3 gallons in size. Regular old grocery bags fit just perfect in that.

I disagree...
I don't read "hate" in any posts around here
I see them as sarcasm and snarkiness - hardly HATE - sometimes angry - but still not hate

the old adage is true 89hen
You find outside what you carry around inside - if you're reading posts on here as hateful
Thats more a reflection of you than anything else
