Yeah I’m going to debunk this right here

1) Spaniards would have recognized a Gaelic based language as their own ethnic minorities were Celtic and their dialects are very similar

2) Irish are generally unrecognizable from most other temperate zone savages

3) The only voyage of discovery performed by Irish is finding their own houses after leaving the pub

BTW #1 is true

Everybody know the Vikings discovered America in the 9th century. There is hard proof of a settlement in Canada. Proof enough for me, anyway

So, you’re “on board,” but you won’t vote for him. You’ll vote for a Democrat whose policies will eviscerate the value of your retirement accounts. Gotcha.

I won't vote for Trump because his support of things I don't agree with. It won't matter though....so I can have a clear conscience AND still benefit from his ecumenic policies.

There is a decent chance that the Welsh beat the Vikings over but they definitely didn't settle here outside of building a couple of temporary camps. There are a few stories based on a early poem that a bastard son of a Welsh prince left before his dad passed ,in order not to cause any trouble and set off West with a crew just to see where the wind would take them and they ran into North America.

Also ran across a report made by some early explorers of Tennessee, in a old book on the history of Tennessee, that stated they found some mummies wrapped in hides in a manner that was indicative of the early Vikings who were blond hair and blue eyed. The book also mentioned a stone fort foundations that was built in the Welsh style that was discovered. I have the book on Tennessee history somewhere on Microfiche, as the library system I ordered it though didn't have a paper copy to loan me so they gave me a Microfiche version.

There is also Lewis and Clarks reports of blue eyed natives among the Mandan Indians when they came up the Missouri.

David Thompson and other brits and Frenchmen were already just north of the Mandans 20 years ahead of the Corps of Discovery exploring out from York Factory and Saskatchewan house up all of the river systems. Pretty good chance someone made it south from there and got bizzy.

Ominous news with respect to the well being of our nation. The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll...the gold standard poll...has Trump down's job approval down by only 3% to his disapproval among registered voters.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0

That is a "statistical tie." There is not sufficient evidence to say more people in the population of registered disapprove of his job than approve of it or vice versa.

Also, the results are "significantly different" than those of the last ABC News Washington Post poll on the topic. It was conducted October 27 through 30, 2019 and had 59% disapproving of Trump's job vs. 39% approving.

As I've said many times the real problem we have in this country is that we have a lot of people who will approve of and even vote for an atrocity like Trump. And it's particularly bad among males.

In this latest ABC News/Washingtom Post poll it was 57% approve vs. 39% disapprove among males while it was 33% approve vs. 62% disapprove among females.

Bottom overall line is that during most of Trump's term you could take the ABC News Washington Post poll results to the bank as indicating that he was clearly under water in terms of Job approval. You can't do that with this latest one. Very sad.

I would like to think a significant percentage of those who approve do so because of the binary nature of our system and confirmation biased news. They hate Democrats, therefore Trump.

My thought was maybe it has something to do with taking Soleimani out. I actually was inclined to approve of that myself.

But in any case: The ABC News/Washington Post poll is very good. As I've posted in other threads I've looked up how that poll has done in national elections going back through 2008 and the most its point estimate has been off in terms of margin Democrat - Republican is 2.8 percentage points. A+ rated poll by 538 with a very small bias. When the ABC News/Washington Post poll indicates something its performance history says you need to take it seriously.

There's always the CHANCE that it's way off. That is the nature of survey sampling. But this ain't the Rasmussen poll. FAR more credibility.
