“That is Senator Sanders’s platform, in short: He promises to implement Venezuelan policies to achieve Danish outcomes. And Sanders is the man of ideas in the Democratic Party, or at least the man of an -ism, in much the same way as Trump is the Right’s man of an –ism (nationalism, in his case). Like the campus postmodernism of the Eighties, this is really only terminology masquerading as thought, a pseudo-ideological linguistic marker of tribal affiliation.”

I freely admit that I am right of center. And it's OK that you are left of center. Just admit it. I doubt if I agree with Bernie Sanders on anything but I respect the fact that he doesn't try to hide who he is unlike most of our elected officials.

Socialism has as much chance of happening in this country as authoritarianism under Trump.

The center, as I’ve clearly demonstrated, is subjective. I really don’t care which side of it I’m on. I’m just liberal.

True. I think I've already pointed out that a Bernie Presidency would not be the end of the Republic (although Bernie does bear a resemblance to Emporer Palpatine). It would be highly entertaining watching the Conks freak out over everything and watching Bernie get increasingly frustrated by his inability to convince everyone of his superior intellect and ideas. The Presidential Orders would make Obama and Trump look like pikers and then they would get shot down in the courts. How would Bernie go - thumper or aneurysm and when?

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

I don’t see that article as making Bernie the boogeyman

I think it points out that Bernie’s plans are not the answer to our woes, but that his followers are either too ignorant or myopic to realize it (that sounds vaguely familiar)

It basically says little that isn’t being said by the Never Bernies in the dem party

You don't say!? I'd wager a guess that many hardcore Bernie supporters are single issue (health-care, student loans) and/or low information voters.
