That's nice AZ, conveniently leaving out that 50% of Americans didn't receive a raise last year, or that 44% of Americans 18-64 are now making $18,000 or less a year. Fourty-four. That 3.4% increase in low-wage jobs accounts to approximately $600/yr (without including inflation). Even for a middle-class person like me, 5% makes no discernible difference (and I haven't seen anywhere near 5%).

Start looking at the big picture. The stock market is a terrible economic metric, and wage percentages don't tell the whole story. People are hurting, working more hours, falling behind on bills, going into debt, holding off children, etc...yet you've convinced yourself the economy is helping everyone. Maybe for the wealthy and upper-middle class, but I don't see it from where I sit.

What a pointless, stupid statistic. Include HS and college students. Why not include everyone down to age one and get the percentage even higher?

An estimated half of U.S. workers say they didn’t get a raise in the past year, a new Bankrate survey shows — a marked improvement over the previous year’s figure of 62%.

Some 49% of workers reported having received a pay increase in some form, including 28% who got a pay bump, 12% who got a higher-paying job and 10% who got both. (The numbers add up to 50% due to rounding.)

Here’s the good news: That figure was an 11-percentage point increase over last year, and the highest since 2016.

The bulk of reported raises stemmed from either performance-based increases or promotions or new job opportunities, showed the survey of 1,000 respondents, which included 591 employed adults.

The results also showed a slight uptick from last year in pay increases that were based on performance (38% this year vs. 37% last year) or as part of a promotion or new job responsibilities (31% this year vs. 29% last year), and a continued decline in raises given as cost-of-living increases (26% this year vs. 27% last year). In 2016, cost-of-living increases made up 30% of pay increases.

I mean the short answer is yes. I'm more radical of course in that I support the dissolution of the federal government (aka. United States) into a many smaller federal governments.

Of course most Americans don't want that (I think), which I respect. That's why I'm supporting Sanders as he'll be more or less the same except with a conscious and policy-points I mostly agree with. He'll still be "checked" by Congress, but his voice can plant the seeds for future generations to continue the changes.

Includes bits about the fortunes of birth and circumstance and how people may not be able to achieve potential because of it. Might shatter your worldview that you've earned everything because of your hard work.
