Re: Coronavirus
Got to get those economy numbers low as they can so they can release them in the fall before the election to lie about "how poor" the economy is doing.

Re: Coronavirus
I think we suspect the number is different due to people not realizing they have it (hell, i've got a sudden cough and runny nose right now. Maybe I have it!) and not going to the doctor or reporting it. A guy on CNN a few days ago said he suspects the actual infection rate is 10x what's reported.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 11:29 am And Trump would be right considering there’s undoubtedly a gigantic # of undiagnosed cases..

Re: Coronavirus
Which would mean the mortality rate is 0.2%, not 2.0%....so right in line with any other flu strain...Ibanez wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 11:42 amI think we suspect the number is different due to people not realizing they have it (hell, i've got a sudden cough and runny nose right now. All you need is some foil backed foam board and a sunflower heater. You will be working in a t-shirt and shorts in no-time.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 12:30 pm Just got the email from high up that I am supposed to work from home if I can. Your shed is about the same size as some of the smaller ice houses around here and it doesn't take much to make a space comfy.

Butte, America has been stricken with Covid-19 hundreds of times before and they just literally laughed it away and didn’t feel it newsworthy.ALPHAGRIZ1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 12:45 pm Your so brave.....what if the virus in on the cardboard boxes and you import this vicious virus into your work space?

Re: Coronavirus
I really, really hate to have to defend Trump but this thing on him saying he thought the WHO mortality rate is high and the media freaked out over it is bad. The 3.6 percent mortality rate reported by the WHO (that's what it is right now in Table 1 at https://www.who.int/docs/default-source ... 2c21c09c_2) is the rate among CONFIRMED cases.
It's perfectly reasonable to think that the rate among ALL cases out there is much lower. Obviously, the most severe cases are way more likely to present for medical care, be tested, and be confirmed. It's completely reasonable to think that there are a bunch of cases out there among people who aren't all that sick so that nobody's tabulated them.
It's a shame when the media do this sort of thing because MOST of the time they are completely correct in saying Trump is full of shit. When they do this sort of thing it provides the opportunity for Trump cultists to say "SEE!"
DON'T do that!

Re: Coronavirus
We are already getting periodic emails about coronavirus preparedness and requiring that everyone verify their ability to work from home. It would be terrible if I was instructed not to come into the office for a period of time.

Re: Coronavirus
Why don't they release the ages and pre-existing conditions of those that have died?!
Go Black Bears!
Re: Coronavirus
That would minimize the panic, and that doesn't maximize commercial revenue for CNN and Fox News.
