ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced that a Montana resident visiting Anne Arundel County has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). While this will be classified as a Montana case, the Maryland and Anne Arundel County Health Departments will take the lead on the investigation.

This individual is a woman in her 70s who was alerted that she had been in close contact with a confirmed case. The patient presented for testing at an Anne Arundel County hospital, which took all necessary precautions to protect staff and patients.

The travel ban itself is a dumb idea, especially if you're going to simply exempt the UK. The virus is already here, spreading. The response we need is here in the United States, not travel bans that are a month behind.

That speech was a weak response, at best.

Life will change. Talk by co-workers with relatives in China and Italy, say it's not good over there. Small percent of actual cases are being reported, rest is covered up. Hospitals there, are deciding who should live and who should be left to die. As long as people don't panic and stay calm, we'll get through this.
