Super Tues #3- March 17

Post by BDKJMU »

March 17 Democrat Primaries:
-Arizona
-Florida
-Illinois
-Ohio

I assume Biden is favored to win them all. Have to wonder if the Chinese Virus will depress turnout of the old folks a lot more than the Bernie Bros. Probably not enough to swing any Sander's way..
JMU Football:

Arizona is mostly mail-in - only 25% usually go to the polls on election day

I wondered the same thing. They really should all postpone. I have to give credit to Louisiana's governor for doing that early on.

BTW, think of what happened in Louisiana when the problem was under the radar but brewing: Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras day was February 25. February 26 was when they had that Biogen conference in Boston where >100 of about 175 attendees ended up with COVID-19. Talk about people being pressed together in big crowds. Mardi Gras.

So the conk gov orders and election delay (backed by some donks).
A donk judge over rules him, denying the delay.
Conk gov ignores judge. Poll workers and voters get conflicting info throughout the day.
Postponed until early June. Ohio Democrat Party says that is too late, want it in April. Of course that is too late. Most of the remaining states are late March-May.
Some have already voted early and by absentee.

What a clusterfuck.

Delaying elections is stupid. We had elections at the height of the Civil War, WWI, WWII...

Which is why the "Trump will postpone the election" because of the Wuhan Flu narrative is completely ridiculous. Plenty of time for everyone to prep mail in ballots for the general election in Nov.

Good point - I think probably not, this early. Worst that can happen to Biden is that he has to pull out the superdelegates for the second ballot.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.
