I’ll post the numbers in a few.
Good Afternoon - Here are today's Numbers:

1) First some good news Both Italy and Spain look like their curve is peaking and the initial wave is breaking we will know for sure over the next week.

2) WA State has clearly flattened the curve, with that said even with the curve flattened, we didn't flatten it soon enough and the Hospital System in the Puget Sound Metro region is under extreme stress and may still yet break, we still have the worst three weeks of the curve to go yet. Spokane is accelerating and will be breaking out tomorrow. They still have the chance Not to Stress the Hospital System over there to the breaking point.

3) A number of states are starting to accelerate and heading towards unmitigated wildfire status including New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, Texas, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and California

4) Oregon, Idaho, Montana are still undetermined which way they will go

5) When I say Breakout I mean that the disease can no longer be contained by test, track and trace, by my eyeballing of the chart that happens at between 80 and 100 cases per capita. Wildfire means 25% day over day growth or greater, which means its on an accelerating not flattening curve, if the curve growth stays under 17% and closer to 12% its flattening. When cases pass the 350 per capita the Hospital system is under extreme stress and headed to being overrun, somewhere between 500 and 700 the hospital system is about to be or is int he process of being overrun and broken.

6) The actual number of real world cases is 2.5x to 3x the number in the report due to under testing and mild cases being missed. This has the effect of having the media over report the mortality rate at nearly 3.5%, but when you factor in the under-reported or non captured cases the mortality rate is closer to .75% to 1%. Both number sets for mortality are still horrible at the different lower ranges, for instance at 1% you might be 3 degrees separated from knowing some one who has died. At a 2% mortality rate you will know someone will die, at 3.5% and broad spread across the USA its likely someone close to you will have died. For comparison sake a really bad flu comes in at about .15%

Darwinism.
Darwinism at it's finest. That drug can be used other medical problems including the treatment of meningitis ( I should know, i've taken it). But self medicating is just plain stupid.

They didn't even take the real drug. They took a variant of it that is used to treat aquarium fish.

Wuhan is relaxing quarantine protocols for healthy people on April 8th. This might suggest a 3 month or so need for hotspots to maintain shelter in place orders for 3 months or so in order to prevent a breakdown of each area’s healthcare system. Obviously less for areas not as badly hit.

Ha! Flyover Country FTW!

It's unfortunate 'cause people that genuinely need the drug are having a tough time finding it online, and unethical doctors writing unnecessary scrips are depleting pharmacy supplies. Th pharmacist I use posted a FB message saying they won't fill the prescription if the customer in any way hints that it's for Covid-19, not that the customer can't simply take it to a different pharmacy.

Right. Several factors including pop density, date of onset, and early suppression strategies.

There will be areas here that will need to go much longer with protective measures.

No. This is a horrible area to live in. Long, cold, windy winters, lots of blizzards and can be up to 2 months of below zero weather (did I mention cold?). Spring is damp and full of mud, and the occasional floods that sweep through. Summers are hot, windy, full of mosquitoes, tornado's, thunderstorms, hail, and more wind. Falls are nice, but they only usually last a week, and that is a M-F week, the weather turns crappy as soon as you get out of work on Friday. Plus it is flat, like you can see your dog run away for 3 days flat. Every now and then there is a creek with a few cottonwoods but that is about it. Food is horrible, just meat and potatoes. People talk funny and they can be hard to understand.

Plus no real good selection of beer or distilled spirits. And what stuff you do get is usually skunked from traveling in a truck for so long.

No you are much better off on the coasts. Better scenery, better food, better just about everything. :coffee:
