Like I said, after watching Trump last night and then watching Biden today, we're flat out screwed. I would take the articulate whackjob at this point compared to those other two disasters.
You have Jill Stein on your speed dial. Call her. :coffee:
Nah, she's too old for me now - I'm not voting for the 70+ older crowd anymore, even in my protest votes.

But he’s a whackjob. But if the guy is young and articulate (and bright and clean), that’s a storybook, man.

I prefer the senile. Their mis-statements aren't due to being idiots or uneducated.

Here's Vox explainin' to us rubes about how the corona virus is allowing Trump to take over the airwaves -

https://www.vox.com/culture/2020/3/25/2 ... al-ratings

But at the end of the article they express what the real worry is:

"There’s been some concern among those who pay close attention to presidential approval ratings that despite Trump’s bungling of America’s response to the coronavirus from the first, his numbers continue to tick up a little bit with every new poll. The worst days of the virus’s sweep through the US are almost certainly still ahead of us, as the number of infections and deaths continues to rise, so there’s no guarantee those approval ratings will hold. But I would argue that as Trump continues putting himself in front of TV cameras to act like he’s taking charge and driving this narrative forward, he might still benefit. Even if things are falling apart, he’s still “taking charge,” whatever that means. And subconsciously, we love a protagonist."

CNN had a very similar article yesterday - basically that Trump has never been as popular as he is now and it's because he gets to be a leader on tv in the time of a crisis, no matter how awful CNN thinks he's handling the job.

Before long it will be time for the people that said "OMG Trump in charge while we have a pandemic, we're doomed!" to change gears to giving all the cred to health care workers and state and local leadership for the response. Of course, they'll be right when they say that because the federal government and response is much bigger than one person, but they should've realized that sooner.

I think even the Trump haters have to admit that at least he's basically doing the exact opposite of what someone trying to increase executive power would do.

An autocrat doesn't say "Fake news! It's not that bad! The Lamestream media is trying to hurt my reelection!". No, you overplay the danger and try to make it out to be a repeat of the black plague in the 14th century.

He's not heeding the advice of whoever the Obama advisor was that said "never let a crisis go to waste".

So you're actually dumb enough to believe that Trump doesn't have any advisors that want him to take advantage of crisis..?

Trump, ignoring the advice of people who know better than him and acting impulsively? Nooooo.

Even after downplaying this and dragging his feet he's still saying he wants to try to restart the economy on Easter. There's a lot you can say about Trump that's not good, but a wannabe autocrat he is not. He knows he has to win an election and can't use trickery to try and extend his term.

It's why the new narrative is "we shouldn't have daily briefings from the WH".

Trump is handling this Chinese Flu pandemic fine. Sure there are things that could have been done better, but it's not the mishandling the Orange Man Bad folks want it to be.

Trump is just not a good public speaker. Sounds like a Jr High bully trying to pick a fight. I think of Chris Berman's quote, Rubblin, Bumblin Stumblin when he talks.
