Hopefully business owners realize that office space is not needed...of course that shift could result in a crunch for the business real estate sector, oh well.∞∞∞ wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 8:48 am The positive environmental effects and a potential shift to working at home becoming the new normal. Less new construction, less traffic, less energy use, less environmental degradation. I'd add the potential shift to food deliveries/walk-outs becoming the norm as a good thing as grocery stores/restaurants would require less square-footage to perform the same functions.
Also the possibility that we now see janitors, grocery clerks, package-runners, and other low-wage workers are vital to the economy and compensate them accordingly (but I doubt this one).
Oh and CA has determined new home construction an "essential" need to plenty of projects still going on. I don't think that stops with the Chinese virus, but new construction will probably be hammered if the economy takes longer that expected to bounce back.

I left the house for the first time in 5 days yesterday. I went to pick up dinner at 5:30. The trip would normally take about 25-30 minutes each way due to heavy traffic and poorly timed lights. Yesterday, it was 10 minutes each way. Hardly anyone on the road.
It was glorious.

My routine hasn't changed much except for my social life, which is now me and some weed cruising the wonderful country roads we have. I have noticed more cars on the backroads than before, probably doing the same thing. Most of my musical friends have lost some income.

I was lamenting to my wife yesterday that I haven't seen (or noticed) any American ingenuity to help fix the medical supply issues we've encountered. Dyson designed a new ventilator in 10 days and is hoping to have production begin ASAP all the while America is over here pulling on its pud.
She sent a picture of herself wearing one, with "WA" for West Ashley High School, printed on it. Very cool. I hope to see more like this.

“High schools have a printer capable of making this,” said Michael Yost, Ph.D., vice chairman of research in the Department of Surgery. “Let's make this so simple that a high schooler could do it, yet effective to protect our people.”
In a matter of days, a team came together and developed the Self-Assembly Filter for Emergencies, or SAFE, Cartridge System. The system could be used by medical professionals or by people who just need to go to the grocery store.

American ingenuity may return after all of the 70-90-something year olds are finally out of politics......give it another decade or so.

When I saw Kehoe throwing those rainbow lollipops in Game 1 last year I wanted him to get the hook IMMEDIATELY. I was a Henderson fan by five minutes into game 1.
Nonsense, I have no issue with Delaware talent. I do have an issue with Delaware people overhyping Delaware talent. That happens quite a lot. I was right on on Henderson - guy needed to be in the games more and had to prove he could hang in the pocket and make some passes before tucking it and running. He did that and he's a very good QB going forward. I was always fine with Will Knight, but I didn't and still now didn't see the need to feature him predominately over Robinson. I thought they were both good running backs and both were badly used by Rocco throughout the year. I remember sitting in Sec C last year and the moment anyone other than Knight got a carry there were several Delaware yahoos standing up and yelling that Knight should be in there on every snap and every carry. Heck, even if he was that good he couldn't carry the load of 35 carries per game for a season. I know, I know, that makes me a hater.

Again, he had to prove that he could be more than a gimmicky QB, and he did that once he got more chances. What did I say incorrectly?

Way to go out on a limb! He has to prove he's good before I'll say he can be good.

I didn't realize going out on a limb was a prerequisite to provide a comment on the team I watch. Yes, I said we had to see more of him, considering that Danny had done a good job of not playing him at all. Methinks you're just miffed on the fans from Delaware tact I used more than anything else. I didn't think I was referring to you, but I certainly may have struck a nerve.
