Most people reading this know how difficult it is to negotiate with a city or county to get simple cost of living raises. Cities will fight their police departments tooth and nail to give them as little as possible each contract negotiation (while throwing things at firefighters who already have more than enough benefits, but that’s neither here nor there).

Cities will fight their police departments tooth and nail to give them as little as possible each contract negotiation (while throwing things at firefighters who already have more than enough benefits, but that’s neither here nor there).

Firefighting is a hell of a sweet deal, if I were young again I'd take a close look at it as a career. They get more time off than teachers
