2020 Transfer Portal - Jabril Cox
Yikes, he plugs the hole in the middle and on the left and right. Big loss if he transfers.
Cox Transfer Portal Link
A source with access to the NCAA's transfer portal confirms to Bison Report Publisher Ross Uglem that North Dakota State LB Jabril Cox has entered his name into the portal.
Cox has been a multiple-time All-American at North Dakota State, and has the ability to play immediately at any school after redshirting his first year and playing three, receiving his degree in the spring.
Cox has received significant interest from NFL scouts during his time at North Dakota State, and figures to draw significant interest from the league.
While the Kansas City area native will certainly have his fair share of suitors interested in his services next fall, entering the transfer portal doesn't necessarily mean he'll be leaving the program.

Wow, I would expect the Bizen to lose a game this year now.

Re: The Glue to NDSU's Defense Enters Transfer Portal
There's no way they'll even get a win.
That guy was the glue, man!

Good chance they won't win the Oregon game.
Cox was the guy that very rarely missed a tackle. Linebacker that could lineup at DE or nickel back.

Re: The Glue to NDSU's Defense Enters Transfer Portal
I thought Derrek Tuzka was the best player on NDSU's defense. Near consensus AA (more/higher AA honors than Cox), MVFC defensive POTY. In the 2017 season NC game thought he was one of their best defensive players (2 sacks), and 1 sack this past NC game. I see Tuzka was invited to the combine. Don't know if he'll be drafted or not..

Cox, and it wasn't even close. He didn't get the stats and awards, because most teams ran their plays away from Cox. Tuzka was a pass rushing DE, and he was good. Cox was at another level. If it wasn't for Cox, you would have won again in 2017 and this year. Watch JMU's last possession and Cox close in on Schor.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 3:04 pm I thought Derrek Tuzka was the best player on NDSU's defense. He does need to play with a defense that runs more than two formations
here he's the cover 2 / Sam Linebacker

again opposite side but still Cover 2 / Sam Linebacker

here he plays in this Single High (Cover one) as the Mike Linebacker

If that means you think he might end up at LSU that would really be something. Obviously, LSU typically has a lot of talent. However, if you had to pick positions on the LSU 2020 team where there might be opportunity, linebacker would be one: https://www.si.com/college/lsu/football ... cker-corps.

Pretty much the expected outcome - if you can go to and start at LSU, then you do so. He's looking at a serious payday when he gets drafted out of there. Easy decision really. Doesn't even matter if NDSU was FCS or had moved up either. When LSU comes calling, I'd expect most to answer that call.

Is it true that Orgeron is getting a divorce because he really likes Cox?

Re: The Glue to NDSU's Defense Enters Transfer Portal
I don't think it's a given that he'll start. I wouldn't be surprised if he does but I also wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. I WOULD be surprised if he doesn't get significant playing time. I don't think they'd have made a scholarship available for him if they didn't expect that he would.GannonFan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 12:18 pmPretty much the expected outcome - if you can go to and start at LSU, then you do so. The reason I say that I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start is that, though LSU lost its starters, it had 14 linebackers on its roster last year that were underclassmen who didn't declare for the draft. Obviously most of those guys were top recruits. They also signed four top linebacker recruits for this year. So there should be some stout competition.

Re: The Glue to NDSU's Defense Enters Transfer Portal
Cox has been a man among boys with NDSU. In ISU playoff game he was in the backfield, fell trying to tackle Robinson, the NFL bound RB. Got up and tackled him 15 yards later. He didn't get a lot of stats, because many teams ran plays away from him. If he had gone to the draft this year, draftsite had him as a 2nd or 3rd round pick most of the 2019 season. He was a QB in high school, so he didn't have a lot of schools looking at him. Fell into the Bison lap, similar to Carson Wentz. Probably the best defensive player to come out of NDSU, EVER.JohnStOnge wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 7:07 pmI don't think it's a given that he'll start.
