I’ll have to check my rulebook, but I think marrying into a Princeton family makes you an honorary Southerner

I haven’t consulted the rules in a while that one could have been revised after WWII or so

With Biden it's almost all about the VP pick now. Whether he dies in office or goes senile enough that he ends up being removed with the 25th amendment, I can't think of a time when a President's VP pick was as important as this one, and primarily because there is a good chance the VP will ascend to the Presidency. Maybe Reagan's second term was the closest we've been to this, but Reagan's senility didn't really come out in the primary like it is now with Biden (and heck, Reagan was a youthful 73 years old when campaigning for his second term - Biden's 4 years older at the same point). I agree, Abrams would be a drag on the ticket in that regards. Cortez Masto could be a possibility - she doesn't have much of a track record so she's more of a blank slate, which is advantageous in this regard. Klobuchar (Midwest appeal) and Kamala Harris are the other ones I see as likely.
Yes, his VP pick will be super important. Which is why it's dumb to go for a token female pick. That kind of pandering will work even less than it has all the other times it didn't work.
He's already made the promise. If his VP pick isn't female that will pretty much finish off his dwindling support.

Stacy Abrams is who he needs. :thumb:

Trump would self-launch into a geo-stationary orbit.

What's funny is that the same idiots that claimed Hillary lost because she's a woman will be claiming Biden needs to have a woman running mate one heart beat away from the presidency cuz grrl power.

Yup. Not sure why anyone things Abrams is a good choice. He'll go Kamala (still not a good choice) if he wants a black chic on the ticket.

Abrams is definitely out - you're already seeing lists where she doesn't show up at all. I agree, it would be a shocker not to have it be Kamala at this point - needs to be a minority or they risk deflating the turnout, although she didn't really excite that base when she failed during the primaries - that DA background and her record are problematic in that regard. Will that be enough to win PA or WI or MI? That will be interesting to see. I think it really depends entirely on what happens regarding COVID and where we are in the fall.

Plus he has to, if he wants his positions and policies be part of the Democratic ticket going forward. Biden is of the same political bent as Hillary - I think kalmia would call that a corporatist Democrat - Biden is much status quo as anyone else was in that race. No one's going to confuse him as part of the progressive wing of the party. So if Bernie wants to see his policies get through potentially into the fall election he's going to need to stay around and make as much noise as possible. Disrupt is a good word for it.

“Dozens of former staffers from Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign were reportedly invited to a Zoom video call Wednesday to celebrate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) dropping out of the 2020 Democratic primary, BuzzFeed News reported.

"Invitation: Bye, bye Bernard (HFA celebration toast)," the email to the former Clinton staffers read Wednesday, less than an hour after Sanders told supporters he was ending his campaign, according to screenshots provided by two people to the outlet.

"He's finally gone (again!). Join for a celebratory toast if you can! And yes, you can loop," the message continued for the event that was set for 4 p.m.”

Dems eating Dems. They keep saying how they need to keep Bernie's supporters engaged and voting and then they find ways to keep pissing them off. This is the kind of stuff that leads to a second term for Trump.

Give it time, Bernie will start shilling for Biden in no time. So yeah, "cuck" is the exact word that plays here. :coffee:

Answer the question. Because he has a lake place but he’s on the left?
He’s got 3 houses. His 3rd home is a lakehouse he bought in 2016 for $575k. But its just a ‘summer camp’ like thousands of orher Vermonters have..
https://news.yahoo.com/sanders-summer-c ... 23143.html

Not his most expensive property- his 3 total are worth close to 2 million.
https://heavy.com/news/2019/06/bernie-s ... me-photos/

I don’t care if someone has 3, or 30 homes. But Sanders is a hypocrite who slams millionaires. Good for me but not for thee. In the past has made statements: “How many yachts do billionaires need? How many cars do they need? Give us a break.”
Sanders is as bad as the private jet flying, private yacht riding, SUV riding, mansion owning limosuine liberals who decry global warming.
Maybe, but he's still right :coffee:
