While not factually accurate it does accurately highlight just a few of his many character flaws.
- How many women have accused Trump of sexual misconduct? The sheer number of claims plus the fact that has admitted to grabbing women by the pvssy should be a concern to anyone with a smidgeon of ethical integrity.
- Even if the lawsuits are off by a factor of 100, that's still almost 7 lawsuits per year for every year of his adult life. What kind of person gets sued 7 times a year every year?
The comment was ""I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. ... Grab them by the pussy. Billionaires get sued all the time. What's the point of suing someone who doesn't have any money?
While I don't know any billionaires personally, how many of those lawsuits are connected to his businesses? To Citiadel point, you don't sue a poor person (or business) you go where the money is. How many times does a multi-million dollar corporation get sued a year? a month? Lawsuits are quite common in some businesses and I would guess the real estate industry is at or near the top of litigation amounts. Getting 50 lawsuits (or served papers) in a year is not unusual for many companies. All depends on their business area and the businesses legal council's risk aversion.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 12:41 pmThe comment was ""I don't even wait. He might not have actually admitted it but does imply that he's done it. But it's ok because he didn't actually admit it. Will members of the Trump ball-licking cult rationalize anything he says or does?
And how often do most billionaires get sued (if Trump really is a billionaire)? Trump has probably been sued 3,000+ times which is more than 50 times per year or 4+ times every month. I'm guessing that considerably more than you average billionaire.
Defend him all you want but a reasonable person can see that he's a liar, a cheat and a sexual predator among other character flaws (and I still preferred him to Hillary).

Yep. Billionaires get sued- A LOT. 2ndly, large US companies are involved in tons of lawsuits involved as defendant or 3rd parties. Most of these lawsuits would have involved the Trump Organization, not Trump personally.Winterborn wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 1:33 pmWhile I don't know any billionaires personally, how many of those lawsuits are connected to his businesses? Not defending Trump at all but there are personal lawsuits and his company lawsuits. One can argue both ways, that they are one and the same entity and they are separate.

I didn't defend him from a character standpoint. Just calling for accuracy. To use an extreme example, if someone has killed 10 people, and a meme says he has killed tortured and killed 100 people, I'm going to call that Fake News. That wouldn't be saying a good guy because he's only killed 10 people without torture..SunCoastBlueHen wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:01 pm I get aligning yourself with Trump as far as policy and politics go, but it seems pretty clear that he is simply an awful human being. When you start to try and defend him from a character standpoint, that clearly puts you in the center of town of partisan fuckville.

Is he really a billionaire?
And to your point on lawsuits, I don't know what is normal/average for billionaires (if he really is a billionaire) so you might have a point. I would guess there is probably some consistency in the lawsuits (refusal to honor a contract and pay what is owed) that would cause a rational person to further question his ethics.
The main point is that when Trump is criticized, his supporters jump to defend him by discrediting the hyperbole but ignore the underlying message and evidence that he is a liar, cheat and sexual predator (i.e. a despicable human being). He's done some very good things as president but let's not kid ourselves into believing that he is someone that he isn't.
