Wow. I wasn’t too worried about Ebola but that infection rate is pretty eye opening. Thank goodness we have Dumb and dumber serving as the point men to prevent this from spreading within the US. :dunce:

I guess at this point the biggest concerns are that an infected person flew on a plane from Cleveland to Dallas (a major airport hub). Time will tell if others contracted it on that flight. And the travel ban which seems like a no brainer at this point. Not sure how anyone expects Ebola to be contained within the US without a travel ban instituted on West African passports.

This whole issue shouldn’t even be a political talking point, but incompetence by the powers that be made this a political talking point. WAFJ. :ohno:
:kisswink:
So I was consistent on the travel ban stance. When I'm right, I'm right. 8-) :coffee:

CAA Flagship wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2014 6:34 pm So Obama gave his reason for not instituting a flight ban. I'm not for or against one at this time but the excuse made no sense. He said people could break up their trip and arrive from somewhere other than Africa. I don't travel overseas, but wouldn't you need a passport and wouldn't the passport say where you were? He also said that it is best to tackle this disease in Africa. Why the fuck would a ban change that?

I'm with expandos, this is a hoax.

Actually, your characterization of the China travel ban is incorrect. It was a ban on any travel for anyone who had been in China within 14 days before entry. US citizens and LPRs were exempt but those were to be screened and/or quarantined on arrival.

And the seeding of the virus on the west coast was stymied in comparison to the one in New York, which came from Europe (which came from China)

That is a far cry from simply banning Chinese flying directly from China

Come on Chiz, get the details right! We don't want to send Gil over to Edina to slap the snot out of you with a rare baseball card collection.

That means SG is up and he uses a bike tire for the snot slapping.

I need to make it up to Seattle when this is over to meet you and SG. Plus my cousin lives there and I haven't seen her since I moved here.

I don't really even get to worked up about cronyism....it became very quickly (as in over 200 years ago) how the "game was played".

My biggest disappointment in Obama is what he did to race relations in this country....especially when you put it up against what he had the OPPORTUNITY to do....massive fucking failure on his part there.

And Clinton gave us Dubya, and Dubya's dad gave us Clinton. It's been awhile since we haven't lurched from one crazy to another crazy (although I would argue that Obama first term would've beaten most anyone and didn't really need Dubya's poor performance to win the White House - heck, he was only going up against McCain so he had little opposition. What screwed his Presidency was not being able to counter his own party, Pelosi and Reid, early on. He got pushed around awhile before he could find his footing and it had soured by then).

That is so flippin delusional. Given the racist birther movement (which is how your Fuhrer really caught the racist's attention. Obama had a backlash from all the racists who were upset about a darkie in the office.

The disappointment in Obama is that he didn't do more to improve race relations. Saying that it "is a construct purely invented by angry white conservatives" means that he did improve race relations. Can you tell me what he did to improve race relations with examples?
