I can't understand how these people look at nations mandating masks in public - some boasting a 90% decrease in transmission rates - and still have the audacity to think this way. It's an act of consideration to your fellow man, not a threat to your freedom.

Now for a positive: The Worldometers site recorded only 750 USA deaths during the last recent Universal Time day that ended a bit over an hour ago. That is the first time the site recorded less than 1,000 USA deaths in a day since March 30. I am still hoping for a seasonal decline.

Without going into much detail I will say that I deal with viral outbreaks pretty regularly. Different type of thing. Not nearly as potentially serious. Mostly has to do with being wed to the toilet and discharging from both ends for a while. But the "season" in the Southeast is basically November through April. I think that most pathogenic viruses do tend to do better during the colder season. I think increased ultraviolet light is hostile to them. I also think higher temperature is. In other words you can see that they survive for longer in the environment, all other things being equal, when there is more intense sunlight. Also, you can see the same thing when temperatures are higher. Even when sunlight is excluded so that you know ultraviolet light is not a factor.

Could be completely different with this virus. But I am hoping not. And if my hope if realized we will start seeing something soon as we are now moving into the hostile season.
