This the best thing I move seen yet on the topic, breaking down the number of virus cells needed for infection and how social interactions relate. Outside...good, short conversations at social distances...ok, not talking...better, sneezing and coughing...bad.
I just got back from the store. Probably 40% wore masks. Got mildly scolded by a lady pointing out that each aisle is now a one way street.

You will not see me wearing a mask in my car alone. The only time I put one on is when I go into a store and I primarily do it to make other people feel comfortable. Also my wife.
This. I've been off the property three times since 12 March not counting taking a ride on the backroads to smoke a fatty and look at some different landscape

If I can save 1 life by wearing a mask, then it's worth wearing a mask, in public spaces that have people around.
This. I wear one, requiring inside staff to wear one, and asking customers to with signage.
The other question is are you spending more than 5 minutes indoors with non-household members?
It’s nice the hard surface threat has been diminished. It’s really pretty damn easy to not get it if you’re not breathing the air of someone infected for more long period of time.
As much as I dislike wearing them, I'm still doing it. Buncombe County (Asheville) has had a rule in place for several weeks mandating that everyone in restaurants and businesses wear them. But no enforcement actions will be taken. It has been interesting to see the reaction. I don't like the mandate part, being more of a strongly recommend/encourage type person. But I still do it. More out of respect for the wishes of several people I know in the health field than the County Commissioners. I trust an RN more than I do the CDC.

I chafe at being told what to do also.
But I actually have a conscience and would not want to be responsible for helping spread this thing to someone who could suffer a bad outcome. I just chalk it up as having respect for my elders.

Some business do require them and I will wear one if I am doing business with them, but outside of that no change for me. I am a CCW holder and normally wearing a masking and carrying is a big no-no for me. Minnesota has come out saying they will treat it on a case by case basis, but ND has not.
And with the wind the last week or so, (25+ mph), most people were holding the mask to their face in order to keep it in place. The people that I see wearing a mask are the individuals who are in the least affected age groups, the elderly I have seen rarely wear a mask.

I will never wear a mask for any reason other than chemical Warfare and Halloween.
I won't shop in places that force me to wear one and I won't shop there after they change back to no masks.

If employees at a place of business are not wearing masks, I avoid those places due to the perception that they don't care about cleanliness. Similar to the buffet that you see roaches running across the food. I won't return when it's over.
