Love how the Leftist got bent out of shape over Trumps photo op after calling some live action by Trump. TDS at its pinnacle. Absolutely love it.

Well when you move the goalposts like that then yeah... those two are incongruent
But I was referring to locking down riots vs quarantines
Kudos to you for suggesting that the tyranny that killed that man in MSP would be acceptable to me on pretty much anyone else

As if the scientific community had any credibility left, they certainly don't now. I knew the mental gymnastics would be entertaining on why the Chinese Flu countermeasures are not a big deal during these protests and riots.

They haven't been run by progressive...they've been run by liberals.Baldy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 9:32 pm "Ignored for decades"

While it's nice the left is united in social change, the truth is social progress is explicitly tied with economic progress. Liberals continue to exploit cheap labor, buy up properties and lord them over the poor, "fight" for rights while comfortably living in economically segregated areas, and send more money into richer areas than poorer ones. Until liberals understand they're part of the problem, lasting progress can't exist.
In that regards, liberals and conservatives are the same. The difference is that liberals suppress people in a round-about,"feel good" way instead of explicitly so. There's a real liberal ignorance (born of relative comfort or racial privilege) to make the connection between social and economic progress because it often means a sacrifice to their wealth and self-interests in order to lift others up.

In that regards, liberals and conservatives are the same. Liberals simply do it in a round-about,"feel good" way instead of explicitly suppressing minorities and the poor. There's an ignorance (born of relative comfort) to make the connection between social and economic progress because that would mean they'd need to sacrifice some of their wealth in order to lift others up.
I’d suggest switching that word out for Democrats.
Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Classically true, but as someone who's active in the DNC, there's been a practical need to start breaking down the different factions when members have conversations. The party is certainly not as much of a monolith as the GOP (which is a good thing).
At least in my region, there's typically five factions:
-Radical-left (anarcho-communists, smallest group)
-Progressives (far-left, people like AOC, third largest group)
-Liberals (don't believe in laisez-faire economics, people like Clinton, largest group, big crossover with neolibs, terms used interchangeably)
-Neoliberals (believe in laisez-faire economics, people like Biden, second largest group, big crossover with libs, terms used interchangeably)
-Right-wing or "rightees" (second smallest group, people like Tulsi Gabbard)

The Dem Party is as fucked as the GOP.
Fold out the anarchists and the doctrinaire Communists and join the Greens or the Socialists. I’d love to see a plurality leave the DNC just as I’d love to see a plurality of the GOP defect for the Libertarians. Or hell, even the repugnant Constitution Party.
Stop supporting big tent retail politics.

I couldn't agree more, CID. I'm likely to vote Green Party in the upcoming Presidential election, but there's no reason people can't work on reforming other parties too. Ideas and people can be a part of more than one organization...as the DNC and RNC prove.

The GOP and the DNC are beyond reform. They are flush with cash and political hegemony. Burn them down.∞∞∞ wrote:I couldn't agree more, CID. The idea that drives me is a Congress with representatives from 3, 4, or even 5 parties... where the Socialists and the Libertarians form a coalition over a common interest... like nuclear power... and the GOP and the Dems are forced to compromise with them to push legislation.
At the end of the day that could create as much gridlock as we have today... but at least real interests would be represented

I'm not sure how legit this site is but damn...
When I volunteered at a soup kitchen there were people showing up in Jaguars, Escalades, Navigators and other expensive cars, all decked out with lights, rims, sound system. It made me sick.
Looters in New York City pulled up to ransack a store Monday night in a $350,000 Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV.

We are not in one of those situations now. I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act
