Mutual aid is a working theory; it's been around since humans have existed (and we see it implemented today all over the world). You continue to have peace officers, except with nowhere close to the amount of power given to them today. When cases of extreme danger occur, the public still maintains a less-resource intensive, small and specialized force.

Crime will always exist, but humans have done fine for thousands of years maintaining order among communities. When they can't, typically the larger governments (in our case, State or Federal) will step in. The modern model of law enforcement was only created in the 1800s to catch slaves and ramped up (aka. militarized) with the "War on Crime" in the 90s.

So in some respects it’s a form of statism?

Completely incorrect on the history of the modern policing model, which is well known to have begun with the London Metropolitan Police.

Do you just make this stuff up?

You are still inaccurate, but that’s understandable given your source.

Police were not formed to police the slavery system. Local constabularies already existed well back before the Revolution. In the South they certainly were used to catch runaways but they already existed and was not the reason for their formation.

“Modern” policing models began in London during the Industrial Revolution and NYPD and Boston were the first police departments in America to be reorganized on that model. Prior to that, very little of the various constabulary systems resembled our system of state and local police today.

It will happen to red America. When you make no major economic contributions and rely on handouts, it's easy for people and companies who actually produce wealth to squeeze your communities into submission. It's happened before and will happen again.

Agriculture accounts for 5.4% of GDP. Of that, 56.7% come from red states, 32.6% come from blue states, and 10.6% of that from purple states.

So congratulations, agriculture from red states accounts for 3% of US GDP.

This country should just erase all history prior to 2019. Throw away all history books. Tear down all statues. Rename all streets, buildings, towns, parks, etc. that are named after anyone. Because guaranfuckingTEED that whoever something is named after, based on today’s standards they were either overtly racist, subliminally racist, systemically racist, posted a racist thought, tweeted an offensive statement, or did SOMETHING that ultimately is gonna be their downfall.

This country has lost its collective fucking mind.

Good Lord you are a drama queen.

We should NEVER honor the history or memory of RACIST, TRAITORS who tried to tear the country apart in the name of defending slavery.

The Confederates, by definition, were traitors, were racists, and had/have ZERO redeeming features.

Elmer Fudd is losing his gun

USA Today Link

Elmer Fudd has many means for cartoony violence and mayhem in HBO Max's "Looney Tunes Cartoons," the reboot of the classic Warner Bros. cartoons.

But the infamous rabbit hunter will not be blasting his cartoon rifle.

Like all characters on the throwback animated series that started last week on HBO Max, Fudd will be gun-free. The new episodes harken back to the Looney Tunes, which had their peak in the 1940s and 1950s heyday, in every other way – filled with cartoonish dynamite explosions and intricate ACME-brand booby traps.

Right. Exactly what I said. And EVERYONE in the 1800's and 1900's was a racist (especially by today's SJW definition), and racism is supposedly SYSTEMIC in our country and the world RIGHT NOW, so let's just fucking start over. Nobody is safe. If they say they're not a racist, they're either lying or in denial.

How much of an economic contribution do the poor neighborhoods in major urban centers make? It would be considered racist to talk about squeezing those "communities into submission." Why isn't it bigoted to talk about squeezing red America into submission?

It is. This is what makes coastal elitism, why Democrat’s have done so poorly, and why I yammer on about what I guess you now have to call “classical” progressivism. :ohno:

There are great peeps everywhere. Those who work the land are closest to the land. Many of them believe in stewardship, conservation, and are opposed to corrupt financial institutions. But they have very little reason to fully embrace those ideals in modern left leaning politics...
