Sure they would. It only took about a couple of months for Trump to get sucked in. I give them the same chance as a snowball in hell of lasting longer, much less them agreeing on a set of rules and then winning a election.

I saw a poll to the effect that most supporters of the Unity Ticket are independents or third-party voters. In other words, the Cult of the Perpetually Disgruntled. Smaller percentages of Trump and Biden supporters. But, you’re falling into the trap of doubting that any effort to bugger the Duopoly is doomed to failure.*

I have not given up hope on that yet, but what I have seen in the Libertarian party, and some of the other independents, is a group of people that would rather sit and debate the differences in going x vs. y, then actually try to come to a compromise and get something done. Now some of that is just due to leadership, and I think based on what I am seeing in the party that is slowly changing.

One other bit that I have noticed talking to independents is that I get the impression that some don't really want to win an election 9and the responsibility that goes with it) but would rather complain about both sides. They are comfortable where they are at and don't want to go outside of their comfort zone.

For me personally I support a third party and do what I can to "bugger" the system. But I see a couple of areas that are going to have to change if there is going to be a serious run at starting a legitimate 3rd party.

My thought on Kanye West running if he really does it is that he wants to help Trump. He is a Trump fan. My thought is that he may think having a Black guy run would move some Black votes to a third Party candidate. If that's what he's thinking, though, I don't think it'll work.
