White privilege.

And hey, it's fantastic to focus on the part of the post that was most unrelated to the topic itself - we have Black folks being pulled over 30, 40 times over the course of several years, whereas white folks are a fraction of that. Do we really think Black people are 30x worse drivers than White people and deserve to get pulled over, or is the reality of driving while Black a real threat to Black people?
If you're white you shouldn't be commenting about anything in the black community. Sorry, that's the rules.GannonFan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 1:17 pmAnd hey, it's fantastic to focus on the part of the post that was most unrelated to the topic itself - we have Black folks being pulled over 30, 40 times over the course of several years, whereas white folks are a fraction of that. Good find, 88.
I was upset when they wrote her role out in the Short Circuit 2 movie - I know the robot was the star, but the original Short Circuit was one of Ally's best movies.
I’m just gonna say it right now...BC was the 2nd worst brat pack movie...only slightly ahead of St Elmo’s Fire. Common thread? Ally Sheedy.
Dude, BC was so far better a movie than St Elmo's Fire you can't even compare the two. BC has lines galore in it (it's eminently quotable) and was funny as well. St Elmo's Fire was a train wreck the moment they finished with the title track. All those characters were terrible in that movie.
They both sucked compared to Bueller, 16 Candles, Better off Dead, Weird Science, etc.GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 6:38 amDude, BC was so far better a movie than St Elmo's Fire you can't even compare the two. My order has Bueller at the top with 16 Candles not far behind, along with BC. Weird Science is fine, but not in the same class. Better off Dead is not in the same class as those movies. I'd throw Can't Buy Me Love up there too, underrated classic (the African ant-eater ritual for instance), The Sure Thing was another good one, not sure if Fast Times is in this genre or not since it came a little before these movies.kalm wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 6:41 amThey both sucked compared to Bueller, 16 Candles, Better off Dead, Weird Science, etc.GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 6:38 am

(I know. Not necessarily all Brat Pack).
Not a bad order except I think Better of Dead is near the top. If you’re throwing in Can’t Buy Me Love than I’m countering with Some Kind of Wonderful and Less Than Zero.GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 7:24 amMy order has Bueller at the top with 16 Candles not far behind, along with BC. Some Kind of Wonderful only worked when Lea Thompson was in the scenes. It wasn't as good as her work in All the Right Moves, but she didn't have a clarinet in this one. If we're throwing those movies in then we need to include Say Anything since that was still technically an 80's movie.kalm wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 7:28 amNot a bad order except I think Better of Dead is near the top. Outsiders, Pretty in Pink, Young Guns, About Last Night?kalm wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 7:28 amNot a bad order except I think Better of Dead is near the top. Saw BC. Never saw St. E’s Fire. I didn’t like BC either. Superficial as hell.
Is this why Ivy hasn't watched St. Elmo's Fire?
Kevin: Love, love, you know what love is? Love is an illusion created by lawyer types like yourself to perpetuate another illusion called marriage to create the reality of divorce and then the illusionary need for divorce lawyers.
The Sure Thing was not a good movie, but lines are still quoted to this day between me and some college friends.GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 7:24 amMy order has Bueller at the top with 16 Candles not far behind, along with BC. So you liked the movie?
Yes, I liked the movie. Maybe it helped I was in college then.
Agreed. But BC certainly does.
