I use bigotry because I feel the people posting racist sh!t are more than just racist they are also sexist, homophobic, etc. Bigots is the better word to describe them overall but racist is the right word for this thread in particular.

Not that it makes any difference, but if I was ever in Asheville again (stayed for a night on the outskirts of there a couple years ago) on principle I'll make sure not to spend any $$ in the city. Anyone who posts things derogatory toward African Americans on this thread isn't being realistic and/or demonstrating that African Americans are inferior or inherently violent. The poster is demonstrating their own racism and bigotry.
Posting those types of things on this thread is like signing a petition that says "I'm a racist." It's a self indictment of their own lack of character.
