Why aren't all you "Patriots" rushing to Portland to fight the Feds? this is exactly what you all have been yammering about for years and why each of you have to have a small arsenal at the bottom of your nearest body of water.
Now that it is happening, either crickets or taking the side of the Feds. Classic. Or bitching about the ACLU not doing enough.
And no, Democrats won't cheer if unidenified Federal Gestapo agents start kidnapping a bunch of right-wingers.

Re: Hey Seattle and Portland.....
Sunday in Seattle. Just another typical peaceful protest, shown in the below video.
https://www.foxnews.com/us/seattle-poli ... rojectiles
Seattle police released body camera footage Tuesday revealing how protesters threw projectiles, including bottles, traffic cones and fireworks, at officers in front of the West Precinct over the weekend. As a result, 12 officers were injured.
"We are relating this video in an attempt to be transparent and will continue to released videos of significant incidents," the Seattle Police Department said.
What started out as a peaceful protest Sunday against police brutality, quickly turned violent in the afternoon, as a group of demonstrators carrying baseball bats began breaking windows and tagging buildings with paint, police said in a statement.
The group then made their way to the West Precinct, where some individuals attempted to break into the building. Body camera footage shows one protester using a black umbrella to allegedly obstruct the view on surveillance cameras, police said.
"Officers moved in to escort the person away from the doors and were immediately assaulted," the department said.
Several officers on bikes positioned themselves outside the precinct as protesters hurled rocks and bottles at them. Some protesters also threw "large mortar-type fireworks" at officers "from a close range," which exploded on the concrete in small, fiery bursts, kicking up smoke and injuring officers who were nearby.
At least two officers reportedly suffered from lacerations and abrasion injuries from the blasts. while a third officer sustained burns to his neck area and received treatment from the Seattle Fire Department before he was later transported to the hospital.
Police lobbed blast balls and pepper spray at throngs of demonstrators in return.
Officers arrested two individuals, one for assault and the other for theft, police said.
Protesters went on to damage and loot local businesses in downtown Seattle, setting a small fire inside one of the shops.
Demonstrators also attacked the East Precinct, which has been the focal point over the past few months for protesters calling to defund the police, even forcing its brief closure in June due to frayed relations between the community and police.
A large, mortar-type firework was thrown inside the lobby of the precinct, causing a small fire, but no one was injured, police said.
"According to the Incident Commander, individuals within this group appeared to be very organized and this appeared to be a very concerted effort at property damage of certain businesses and government facilities," the Seattle Police Department said in a statement.

They're also attacking peaceful protesters and picking people up off of the street and in so doing violating their oath to protect the (1st Amendment - right to assembly and probably the 4th & 5th Amendments - searches & seizures and Miranda rights) of the Constitution. The Feds were called in to protect a Federal Courthouse form being overrun from the rioters. So my understanding is that they are within their rights to be there.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:23 amMy perspective is that the feds weren't invited. They're overstepping their bounds. They don't appear to be identifiable so they probably can't be charged with any crimes that they commit. As federal officers haven't they taken an oath to support and defend the Constitution? Are they really upholding the Bill of Rights or are we veering into jack booted authoritarian territory?Winterborn wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 6:46 am
I am not coming to the side of the Feds at all here but a good chunk of the blame rests on the local politicians feet due to the culture they have fostered for the last decade or so. When you encourage a certain type of behavior for years and in each consecutive year, a blind eye is turned to more and more areas while doing whatever possible to hamstring the individuals that are in place to keep certain behavior in check. There will be a point where the boundaries cannot be pushed any more.
No doubt the mayor, governor and rioters have also fvcked this up. As I said earlier in the thread, I'm appalled by all of them. My sister texted me yesterday to see if I was safe. I assumed she was talking about the virus but she meant the protests/riots. I told her that "I won't go anywhere near downtown right now. Ironically, I don't think it's safe for me." It isn't safe for me not just because of the risk from the jack booted feds but also because of the protesters. I'm a middle-aged white male, the subject of much of their ire. It's ironic because I wonder if this is what an African American felt going into a "forbidden" area in the past. Are protestors attempting to swing the pendulum too far in the opposite direction and to trade one set of fears and oppression for another?
And agree with WB post about the local politicians allowing this activity to fester over the years. Telling the local PD to stand down while protperty is destroyed isn't helping the matter.

See my post above. The Feds are defending a Federal Courthouse form being over run by the rioters. Don't want to get arrested by the Feds, don't smash in a window at the Federal Courthouse, go smash in a window at Starbucks or Amazon instead.dbackjon wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:45 am Why aren't all you "Patriots" rushing to Portland to fight the Feds? this is exactly what you all have been yammering about for years and why each of you have to have a small arsenal at the bottom of your nearest body of water.

Once the "protest" is deemed a "riot", doesn't that go out the window? I'm not defending the rioters. They're a huge part of the problem but the federal response has thrown fuel on the fire and their actions have been more than questionable.
It would have been better if the Feds had stayed away. Now they've given Wheeler and Brown and excuse to not own the results.
