I'm not making any excuses but it clearly says all that violence occurred AFTER and not DURING a peaceful demonstration. We've seen escalations. I'm not sure there's anything wrong with saying that.

I agree with that. Far-Right and Far-left movements share some characteristics.

The Nazis and the Marxists in Weimar Germany hated each other because of differences over nationalism, pacifism, and race/ethnic scapegoating.

Otherwise they were relatively indistinguishable.

But one thing is for sure - both philosophies require a police state to achieve power. The Nazis won that battle but the real difference between the two sides was the Nazis had this gifted orator named Adolf. Post-Weimar Germany probably would not have tried to take over the world had the Communists won out but it would have been as miserable a place as the Soviet Union (and allied with it)
