FIFY
Aside from banning hate groups, has Twitter banned people simply because they don't like them or what they say? Trump is still on there, so it must not be that serious. Alex Jones is banned - i'm not sure that's a person we should be supporting anyway.
They have banned tons of people. Most you don't know and probably never heard of, and many others more famous have been suspended.
Zerohedge was banned for months, but was later reinstated with an apology.
Meghan Murphy, Laura Loomer, CarpeDonktum, Jesse Kelly...all banned permanently. One for the horrible crime of misgendering a transexual person, and another for developing a meme making fun of Donks.
Twitter can do whatever it wants on it's platform, but to claim that it doesn't target certain people based on political leanings or philosophy, is just asinine.
Yeah...I don't know who any of those people are.
Here's a list of some people nad groups that have been suspended/banned:
Courtney Love
Anders Behring Breivik - Far-right terrorist, perpetrator of the 2011 Norway attacks
Hamas
Guccifer 2.0 - For posted illegal hacked DNC docs
@nemuismywife Account permanently suspended for making a death threat towards a dead mosquito. The man started a new account
Rose McGowan - doxing
American Nazi Party
Proud Boys - b/c they're neo-facists
That's a short list. But it definitely seems that many of those that are suspended/banned, are on the Right and it's after they have said hateful things or suggested violence against a politician (or a mosquito).
Found this interesting article

Twitter accounts run by activists linked to the Occupy movement have been suspended after the social network continued its attempted crackdown on bots and fake accounts. Around 80 activists with a collective following of five million people are thought to have had their accounts suspended.
Organisers and activists say that their Twitter accounts were suspended without an explanation from the social network. Many of the accounts were created in 2011 and 2012 at the height of the Occupy movements.
The mass suspension of accounts linked to the Occupy movement comes as Twitter steps up efforts to clean up its platform. The company has reportedly suspended 1,500 accounts over the past week that were suspected of being run by members of pro-Trump 4chan members masquerading as liberal activists, according to anonymous source speaking to The New York Times.
I admit - I don't follow the who gets banned news. Mostly b/c I don't care. If you are a decent person and don't say hateful shit, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
