Most compelling speech of the night, Andrew Pollack, father of Parkland shooting victim. He certainly doesn't sound like a Floridian..

My office is 1 block away from the Spectrum Center where the RNC is being held (was?). I was looking forward to it as I was going to try and catch some of the shit show and media circus that would've been around it.

Thankfully I am not. several times a day since Sunday, I have received security emails from work about the protest activity, # of people arrested, tear gassed, etc.. I did get to see the protesters gathering on I277 as I was travelling back from East Charlotte. I'm not sure what the goal was...they were at one exit that gets you into the city...but there are plenty others.

While Haley's support of Trump is troubling (it might just be politically wise for her at the moment), If she were to run for President I think the Dems would have a difficult time beating her. Most Dems and left-leaning people I know would vote for her. They love her. She served SC very well (although she has an obvious bias against any SC school NOT named Clemson). I'd certainly vote for her.

She’s got to walk a tightrope until 2024 - remain plausibly divergent from Trump while not pissing off the MAGA base

basically, she’s the non-senile, Republican version of Biden (without the Trump Jr/Hunter issues)

@realDonaldTrump

Very appreciative that @CNN covered the vast majority of the Republican Convention last night. That was really good for CNN, while at the same time being good for our Country. Thank you!

If Haley became the 1st woman POTUS, minority to boot, the left's heads would explode, lol, esp if came after 4 more years of Trump..

The left’s heads would initially explode, yes

And some of them of course will never be won over

But Haley is a hopeful, optimistic woman and she’s a uniter. She would be wildly successful in areas where Trump has failed because she is not intentionally polarizing

If she gets the nomination and goes on to win, she’ll easily do 8 years

If Trump wins reelection, the Republican who wins the primaries will be the most Trumpian candidate. I seriously doubt that'll be Nikki Haley.

Her best chance is that Trump loses and then she runs in 2024. :twocents:

I am. I knew him back in his days on the chas county council. He’s a good guy.

In fact, that little cabal AZ just listed is pretty much the GOP dream team in a few years if they can avoid getting MAGA-y

Kristi Noem letting Sturgis happen was good from a libertarian perspective but troubling from a public health perspective. We're approaching 14 days and it will be interesting to see how much spread can be attributed to the event.
