Anyone buying the "Antifa is an idea, not an organization" line is a moron who hasn't been paying attention at all to the riots and destruction that has been going on across America.
Don't know what it means to the bigger picture, but I'm always interested in how organized they are. Always seem to have bodies in the right places.

Maybe it's nothing more than a Twitter feed telling people where to be, but damn, they're pretty good at it.
And resources in the right place at the right time...

...but yeah not an organization.

There are tons of peaceful protests every day that aren't labeled ANTIFA because there aren't masked young folks dressed in black with red symbols of communism and socialism carrying sticks and shields. I don't recall any of the Kavanaugh protests being labelled ANTIFA.

Hold it, I thought Antifa was an idea and didn't have leadership.

Economic and social regimentation = Green New Deal; forced "repatriation" of homes; using intimidation and violence to stamp out different political, economic and social views, etc.

You want to focus on the benign aspects of the ctrl-left and the malignant aspects of the alt-right while Uumpa Truumpas do the opposite.
Who/where are their leaders?

How will they implement their radical agenda? When is the government take over occurring or will it be shear strength of numbers and Molotovs?

I denounced the violence and destruction of property at the start. I’ve also said several times that both sides need to go home, and that Antifa isn’t helping Democrats win elections.

Would you like me to put a “both sides do it” disclaimer in my signature?
Did I touch a nerve? Are you still upset that your post-partisan title was rescinded by the Council? :poke:

I don't know who their leaders are. You brought them up.

You have denounced the violence and destruction and occasionally go at it with Jon but you focus your criticism on the right and treat Trip like a little brother that you have to protect from the big, mean conservatives. A true post-partisan is a little less partisan. ;)

Wray did not dispute in his testimony Thursday that antifa activists were a serious concern, saying that antifa was a “real thing” and that the FBI had undertaken “any number of properly predicated investigations into what we would describe as violent anarchist extremists,” including into individuals who identify with antifa.

But, he said, “It’s not a group or an organization. It’s a movement or an ideology.”

It's not an organization.

Anyone can do anything under the ANTIFA banner, just as anyone can do anything under the banner of Christianity or Islam or whatever. ANTIFA is a little more organized in Europe, but it's not like you can arrest the President of ANTIFA in the US.

Proud Boys is literally an organization, with a leader, organized structure, membership, forums, stated ideology, etc.

Yes, ANTIFA is exactly like the thing which flew an airplane into the Pentagon and WTC's, the US military fought a never ending war against, took out their leader in a secret night-raid, and the Trump administration brokered a "peace" deal with.

Al-Qaeda = organization with one ideology.

Yep. To paraphrase:
White Supremacism = loose ideologies under one banner.

Arguing about whether Antifa has a structure and leadership at the national level (SD's provided links to local organizations) is a deflection.

Is there a link between Antifa and violence? If it's fair to ask Trump to denounce the Proud Boys and similar groups, is it fair to ask Biden to denounce Antifa?

I also believe that “peaceful” protests eventually evolve into violence almost 100% of the time anymore. Sadly.
