Remember I am indeed a conservative. But I still love this from 2011:

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog ... tudy-finds

In other words:

Conservative = fear driven
Liberal = able to cope with complexity

This might be correct for true liberals but the ctrl-left is illiberal. Liberals by definition are 1. willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas. and/or 2. relating to or denoting a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise. Today's pseudo-progressives do not accept behavior or opinions different from their own and they do not promote individual rights, civil liberties or free enterprise.
well where are you drawing that line then? Because many "liberals" of years past have spent the past four years sucking the collective dicks of the progressive movement to the point where supposed "adults" in the liberal community now act lock/stock/2 smoking barrels like a ctrl-left ANTIFA fuck. Hell, I have four sisters who USED to be compassionate liberals. Their TDS ate their brains away to the point where they now support riots, burning, looting, banning conservatives/Trump supporters from ever working again, etc., and everything else the ctrl-left stands for.

Just because the MSM calls someone a liberal doesn't mean they really are one. There are very few people who are truly liberal left in DC.

What is the reverse of TDS? The syndrome that caused social conservatives to overlook all of Trump's moral lapses and accept him as the 2nd coming? The syndrome that caused fiscal conservatives to put aside fiscal responsibility and go all in on tax cuts without corresponding spending cuts?

Too many on both sides have sold their souls and need to head down to the crossroads.

I am fine with going with how people identify. I think that if you were to randomly select 2,000 people from the US population and just ask them if they identify as liberal or conservative you would have about 25% identifying as Liberal, about 35% identifying as Conservative, and about 40% identifying as Moderate. And I think that if you could administer IQ tests the ones that identified as Liberal would have the highest average, the ones that identify as being Moderates would have the second highest average, and the ones that identified as being Conservative would have the lowest average.

Again: I am a Conservative so that does not necessarily please me. But I think it's the truth. I think many of those who are willing to self identify as liberals are among the intellectual elite. Disproportionately so. There are, unfortunately, an awful lot of complete troglodytes among people who self identify as Conservative.

Definition of troglodyte: a person who is regarded as being deliberately ignorant or old-fashioned.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

Could I ever be a star?

I didn't even vote for Trump, but I don't like the way some people come across as thinking they are smarter or better than others because of who they voted for or how much schooling they had or perceived intelligence. In reality the Evangelicals voted prolife, and may said they held their noses and voted.

We don’t “overlook” them. We vote IN SPITE of them. And I’ve reached a point where I know spending cuts are NEVER coming, so I’m keeping as much of MY money as they’ll legally allow.

Hey, there are plenty of single-issue voters out there. We only have two parties worth voting for (unless you're going to protest vote, and for a single-issue voter that makes no sense), so you're going to end up picking one of the two, and for single-issue voters, you pick the one who's for your issue. Evangelicals looked weird voting for Trump and his less-than Christian ways just like National Organization for Women looked weird backing Clinton despite his rampant sexual harassment and potentially even assault. It's a two party system, it ain't perfect.
