I love a buffet.
And, thus, I like to hang with both. And I have, and still do. Although, the "rednecks" are not the big tire pickup truck drivin' types. Just the blue collar suburban types. I can go from drinking Busch Light at a NASCAR race in the afternoon to a formal cocktail party at night and have an equally good time. I can enjoy the moment knowing that I will soon retreat back to my private life watching Hogan's Heroes and eating a bag of Doritos while my landscaper cuts my grass.
Good points and I’m with you to an extent. NASCAR race vs cocktail party is a decent measure. For me, it’s NASCAR race and I’m not even a fan. I hate formality.
I do find cultural contradictions interesting.
My mechanic is a hayseed. A really, really smart hayseed who likes both kinds of music and has a completely restored bone stock 67 bug.
