You bet! Just like at my wife's lawfirm, they find a new policy that raises the deductible by 4K, co-insurance to 50/50 from 80/20, and a net savings to the firm for her policy alone of $400.00 a month. The insurance is provided as a "benefit" so the firm keeps the cash.

Employee retention is likely to take a hit in the near future. Fuck those asswipes.
Nope, not "just like your wife's law firm". Our policy didn't change ONE IOTA. And we pick up 89% of the cost for the employees, just like we always did. So, in this case, the employees got a RAISE, with the same coverage (and it's a VERY robust plan). We're just simple credit union folk, Wedgie, not some scum-of-the-earth law firm. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:
Obviously. Do you offer totally free checking? :D

Competition is the key...and health care is no different than any industry...

The shrinking number of doctors is one of the major reasons health care costs are skyrocketing...yet the state of Texas is proving the competition can reverse that trend...

And it's the easiest way to fix rising healt care costs, but the Democrats don't want any part of it...

It's called TORT REFORM...

Since Texas reformed it's Tort Laws three years ago, over 7000 doctors have relocated to Texas....to the benefit of the people there...
The most significant change is a $250,000 cap on non-economic damages per defendant, such as pain and suffering and loss of companionship. “Before the caps, the average award was $1.21 million; it’s been $880,000 since,” the Dallas Morning News reported last year.

Malpractice suits have plummeted. In 2003, before the caps took effect, there were 1,108 medical liability suits filed in Dallas County, the Morning News reported. Only 142 cases were filed in 2004. Last year there were 184.
http://blogs.wsj.com/health/2008/05/19/ ... rt-reform/

Excessive, outlandish lawsuits drive medical costs up faster than almost anything...reducing the number of abusive lawsuits drives costs DOWN...
Excess litigation has fostered an epidemic of defensive medicine, wherein doctors order more procedures than they ordinarily would to protect themselves from lawsuits. Defensive medicine increases annual medical costs by 10 percent, or $214 billion.

About 83 percent of physicians practice defensive medicine, and over a quarter of tests, procedures, referrals, and consultations are ordered out of fear of lawsuits.
http://www.tortreform.com/node/533

Nah....we'd rather keep the ability to get rich by suing the pants off a doctor and driving up health care costs...while demanding free or subsidized health care

In the Democratic Health "Reform" legislation, there is no mention of Tort Reform...

Wonder why??? :coffee:

Looks like math man Wideright has you covered, providing you start out making $120,000 a year and grow your income every year.

No problemo! :thumb:

  yeah that was kinda my point. even at a steady growing income of 120k a year, at clenz age 50 his health care will be half of his total income. YIKES!

one of these right wing assclowns tried to start a riot at an event in Missouri... ended up getting hurt in the fracas... now is trying to raise funds to pay his medical bills... he's one of the 47 million uninsured...

Irony!

You just can't find a better example of supreme stupidity than that story, so typical of all this tea bagging movement, fueled by dumbasses that don't have any sense at all. Just like our foodstamp rednecks around these parts, sponging off of social programs, flying the rebel battle flag, and voting Republican.

Chances are, these are the only true "Republicans" left.
There's a tea-bagging movement? Damn, I'm always late to the party! :x
Dear lord... please allow this dangerous combination of hair spary, bat slobber, and D.O.T. four automatic transmission fluid to excite my mind, occupy my spirits, and enrage my body, provoking me to kick any man or woman in the back of the head regardless of what he or she has or has not done unto me. All my Best, Earlie Cuyler.

Chad, it's not longer... if it's an emergency in Canada you see a doctor immediately. 9 out of 10 Canadians have personal doctors they can make Drs appointments with, much like you would in America. Even in America, if you want to get your eyes checked out you can end up waiting a week or two for an available appointment with the optometrist. It's the same on the Canadian health care system for non-emergency situations.

I'm just tired as fuck and instead of taking a nap or going to be I'm taking it out on everyone I talk too.

Just wait until your current contract ends, your costs will skyrocket, again. Your initial reply was weak:

First, you DO know what you were paying for healthcare 5 years ago, but your ego would not allow you to concede that point.

Second - You are a known liar here and I do not believe you and neither should anyone else.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

   Our costs go up an average of 7-9% a year. They start out proposing a 14-20% increase, then make you leave the bargaining table feeling like you got a DEAL at 7-9%. Kinda like used car dealers. When the current insurer proposes a 15-20% increase next year, we'll shop around and probably move again to minimize the impact. It's called COMPETITION.....something the government knows nothing about.

Peace, brutha.

I think they do know what competition his, here. They have a block of 50 million customers ready to buy. Now that's bargaining power - and smart. It's called competition.
